  1. found these more to come
  2. hahahaha speaking of limiting to each side of the stem. A while back when i worked in the LBS ... I sold some dude a bike ... and he wanted to cut the bars down. But we said rather just ride it first and then make up your mind. If you want to cut it down then take of 2cm and you should be good. So im sure you can all see where this is going ... he merrily cuts the bar but then comes back in asking why the bike is riding funny .... The poopall has cut off 3cm on the one side of the bar and left the other side as is! http://barfblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/homer-doh.jpg
  3. ATTTAACK ... hahahaha http://roadraceengineering.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/ninja.jpg
  4. Ja thats a crock of SH ... looked at the whole convo .... Its actually based on some article about Passing Etiquette at races .... Then this other dude comments that wide bars also make it hard to pass ... so the other dude replies with that post about the UCI ruling. ... So its a load of bollocks. ... especially when he hashtags "Plenty" onto his statement. I checked the UCI regulations and in the latest rulings we used for Worlds there is no mention of bar width limitations 45] MarathonMTB.com ‏@marathonmtb15h There's an elephant in the room for Mountain Biking - and it's about to get noisy. Passing in mass participation... http://fb.me/OszrlWlh Expand 45] James Downing ‏@jdowning2612h @marathonmtb and 700+mm handlebars don't make it easier!!! Expand 45] Shaun Lewis ‏@shaunlewis12h @jdowning26 @marathonmtb New uci rules are going to limit bars to 580mm #plenty Retweeted by MarathonMTB.com
  5. I doubt that hey, on a DH bike 580mm are far too narrow to be safe. So that wont work. whos tweet was it?
  6. nah - sorry that wasnt the right one - here is the right one https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.533973560003024.1073741848.132801176786933&type=3
  7. there are a good couple of really nice shots here http://www.gameplanmedia.co.za/mtb/mtb1369.html
  8. but yeah IMO no one should dumb trails down to suit their current riding ability. Trails should be designed to be safe, but at the same time progress ones skills. You have A, B and C lines to assist in the riders having the best ride at their ability. If they try a section that is slightly above their ability and crash ... if there was another line that could have been used then the onus is on the rider not the track. Thats why tables are generally used if jumps are built, as these are rideable for everyone no matter your skill level
  9. I had a good laugh at the following twitter comment made by Simon Burney (the UCI Technical Delegate for XC) in Norway. The XC track had a ton of berms and some doubles in it - but this convo with the Track designer about the one stepup jump was too classic. Simon Burney ‏@SimonBurney12 Sep Me to Hafjell course guy: "mate that step-up jump won't work, can you chop it & make it rollable?". Him: "OK. Can I write 'pussies' on it?"
  10. they sure are!
  11. Personally i think Warner was better from a commentary perspective for Course Previews - but he never hit any gaps etc, so it wasnt the greatest .... Claudio however still races and is a machine on a bike too so that is brilliant.
  12. Hey Guys Here are the schedules for the hour long Highlights packages for the Elite and Masters Worlds on Supersport Cheers Nige
  13. a comment off Pink bike - Morzine and Port du Soleil are so last year! http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb10083663/p5pb10083663.jpg Door to Norwhere. They know what they're doing here at Hafjell bikepark. The tracks have super flow and the jumps are perfectly crafted... You should come check it if you're bored of the usual Euro action in Portes du Soleil
  14.

  17. remember that Hafjell have Worlds next year - so your best bet is to go over over that period - then you get to ride as well as watch worlds
  18. for those of you who like stats The Hafjell DH course drops 480m in 2.2km .... So to put that into Perspective - It is about the same gradient as the Top sector of the PMB track from the start to the Tabletops. So not insanely steep, but there are some steep sections - that one rock garden is STEEP and then there is a right hander in a small wood that is also like a cliff. http://cdn1.coresites.mpora.com/dirt_new/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Hafjell_2013_Map_01.jpg
  19. this is called the "Rollercoaster" Its another trail in Hafjell - looks like A-line in Whistler ... just with more jumps. http://www.vitalmtb.com/videos/member/Riding-the-Rollercoaster-with-Troy-Brosnan-and-Mitch-Ropelato,22780/iceman2058,94
  20. YES! http://vimeo.com/49584168 Pity the masters wont be using this track - we will have our own dedicated track for Worlds
