I'm recording all mtb, road rides and runs with a Nokia E51. Great tool. Sure a bike mount will follow soon. Looking at the bigger groups, at least 50% of uploads are from cyclists. The single track, where we weren't standing in line waiting to cross, was amazing. Had a lot of fun but the organization really seemed a mess. How do you know it is ridiculous? Did you calc the costs? Maintenance? Petrol? Staff? Infrastructure/admin etc. Your argument is fueled with assumptions. I would work it out for you if you actually stated some facts. What size/weight was your parcel? You refer to value, did you take insurance? Was it self packaged?

Really? In/on what??? What about the 2 hours it would take to drive there and back and deliver? It is about 120km from PTA to Witbank. Therefore a 240km trip. You paid 20c/km. Don't be a cheapskate.

Would expect the Garmin to be closest but it could still be inaccurate depending on setup (gps filtering, record frequency, fix quality etc). Why is Trubie's reading lower than yours??? You lot should have a meeting and discuss why you yourselfs cannot measure accurately before getting die donder in with race orgs.

Def the only one. What makes you think your device is correct? Why has Ox's Garmin got a different reading? Seems your device is not reliable. Also, there are a couple of settings on Garmin which could also affect the accuracy.

Packing in a box or softbag is waste of time. Just roll it in, it gets treated with a lot more respect.

CRC isn't that cheap. Had a look at buying some Vision Tech and SRAM equipment and its cheaper locally! Got a new 2009 frameset cheaper from CycleLab than what I could have gotten the 2008 model from overseas (R&A were best priced). Plus now I've got local support. If your store is ripping you off, then u have 2 choices, confront them or go shop somewhere else (another LBS or internet).

Think u should give up road. What size is that Soloist? And what carbon wheels you got?

The run is always a toughie on that course. By the times, the swim was rediculously short (Sander Berk, not Zander Berg, in 19 something). Some of the guys swam faster on the 1.9km than they do on 1.5km swims!!! One marshal on 80-85km?? R600 entry... Glad I didn't go.

Yip, silly to have it same weekend as IronMan. Would have been great if it was the next weekend.

Calling all those who have imported bikes/frames before... I want to import a Cervelo frameset. What happens if there is a warranty claim?

The swim was very close to exactly 1500m. The run was quite accurate as well. Can anyone confirm that wore a ForeRunner? I've got a 725 and always swim with it, no prob. So bring it along next time, just take it off the bike first.

The bike loop was only 9.7km. The run was a bit longer than before, think this was to compensate for the short bike. I agree, the race should start at 7am. Felt really bad for those doing the sprint. It was boiling yesterday. And maybe by SA's we'll have a settled swim course. It has been different at each of the 3 races!! On the plus, riding and running with 100% closure is almost priceless.
