  1. Believe it or not I just inflated it and it’s not losing air
  2. Good day ,this morning I was very stupid. First time putting the bike rack on new car and I didn’t check the alignment with the exhaust and off we went. About 45 minutes into the drive we heard a loud pop, discovered I melted my rim and tyre. Put peed off because the wheel (DT Swiss xrc 1501) only has 2600 km on it. my question is ,do I out and out need to replace it (I suspect I do) or would cbr or someone maybe be able to repair it?
  3. Finally got it yesterday, they gave me 20% discount on a new one the waiting time was ridiculous
  4. I enquired at my lbs the other day and they say we will only get for off the shelf purchase in about 6 months from now (assuming you’re talking about the new Sram transmission)
  5. That’s how I’ve always viewed it as well ,bike always gets stored in smallest cog. I mean the bike only gets ridden for a very small percentage of its overall lifespan
  6. Surly that would be if you if you stick to say granny gear or at least the top 3? If you rode in say the lower two thirds of the cassette it won’t have more tension than just one cog bigger for a correctly lengthen chain? I'm just curious because I just fitted a larger chainring and I noticed my chain is a bit short, not as short as the above one but still a bit short.
  7. Out of curiosity, just how bad is it to run a chain that short?
  8. I think most won’t easily hit their rd this hard ever unless something goes tragically wrong
  9. Just went to cyclelab ,they have contacted Scott and hopefully I’ll have a new helmet in the next 5 days
  10. Thanks ,makes sense
  11. Thanks ,any idea if Scott do the cash replacement? It’s a Scott centric plus
  12. So I know you’re meant to replace your helmet if it gets any impact of any sorts but just how true is this? This afternoon I crashed with a brand new helmet and the helmet received some fair impact however there’s not really a dent or anything, just a bit of a scrape mark. Should I really replace it? It feels wrong to since it’s a new helmet I read that even dropping your helmet compromises it ,is it really that bad? thanks in advance
  13. well I like the idea of that too because I think I would get more life out of my cassettes since the wear is normally concentrated on the lower cogs and the largest two cogs typically go unused. I'm looking forward to seeing how the new bike goes with a 36 and maybe a 38 in the future though
  14. how does the 38 feel? I've been running 36 ovals for quite a while now and I regularly find myself wanting a bit more but a 38 is quite a chainring to run as specially since there is no such thing as flats near me.
  15. Thanks a lot ,i’ll be running a 36 oval so that’s fine
  16. That is indeed very sad, I run a 36 oval typically and want to try a 38 ,it will be a bit sad if I have to go back to a 36 round…
  17. I’ll find out when I get mine this week
  18. Thanks, that’s a bit disappointing
  19. Could anyone tell me what’s the maximum size chainring you can run on one of these?
  20. Just got a scammer warning from bikehub then got a WhatsApp via a business account. phone number +27791755198. Managed to send photos of a bike previously sold on the hub a few years ago before I blocked him
  21. Thanks for all the suggestions, I left it open to dry for two days and then played around with it and got it to work on the third try. It’s working normally again now but I will definitely keep an eye out to make sure this doesn’t happen, again or so I hope
  22. Thanks a lot, I’ll leave it to air for a day or two then and have a look for some of that anti moisture spray.
  23. Hi there. The past weekend I went away for the weekend and some lekker riding but got caught in the rain on Saturday. Before the ride I noticed my power meter battery was flat but it was sort of expected as it has been some time since I last changed batteries so I just left it because I didn’t have time to change it. Anyway when I got back from the ride I went to change my battery and found that the small thingy that goes over the battery in the slot somehow came out of line with the cover and water got in, naturally I dried it out but unfortunately it turned out I didn’t have new batteries with me so I closed it up and left it for when I got home. Unfortunately I’ve been sick in bed since and today I finally got time to open up and change batteries and discovered the inside was rather wet, I dried it thoroughly and popped in the new battery only for it to not want to work at all. I’ve now left it open to air a bit and will test again tomorrow. any advice on what I could do or who to contact if I need to replace anything would be appreciated
  24. I have two bikes with Sram XX1 and one with GX, the xx1 is perfect every time and I’ve never had a bit of trouble with it. Had to readjust it after a crash where the deralliure took a serious knock but that’s all, the Gx was a mission to get set up and it took 3 bike shops to get it right but since then it’s been great so far (about 1200km so far and going strong). My experience with shimano has not been that great though (similar to NX), the Sram just seems to keep going endlessly but the shimano constantly seemed to want tweaking. also Sram cassettes and chains I’ve found to outlast shimano by a very long way
