    I didn't read through everything but as far as a Refund goes... the organisers "did the work" they were suppose to setup the race so due to mother nature they cant be blamed. They cant undo the last years work so I feel sorry to them also. Good call to cancel ! And a very good suggestion here to give us that entered "first option" for next year... hope it happens though ! Sorry that we couldn't do it this year and sorry for all those that have a sub 3 in their legs and you wont get a chance to show it but im sure hard work gets rewarded some whow...keep up the training and before you know we are all back riding this thing (hopefully in December and not March)

    you obviously didn't read what I was saying carefully... The guys talked about developing ladies cycling to be competitive overseas...hence I suggested they either race or this should be a fun ride... On your crits of 90 min...I hope that gets you to Europe soonest ! Again this was my 2 cents...

    my 2 cents: - Notice wayyyy to short - Womens only group - great idea - Shorter distance - not a good idea if this is a RACE -I would suggest make this whole thing a "fun ride" for everyone...no one will prove anything from winning the cycle tour..its no where near a REAL challenge for the racing teams nor is it "important" in the eyes of the UCI...its just a fun ride. I would SEED the ladies better and have them race between 2 groups that will cause the lease amount of havoc. I always believed in cape town should have the real racers race their own race I called this the Super Argus (think my post was taken off) where by the top seeded say 5 000 riders race a longer distance... then the rest would race say a 90km (celebrating the old race) this way they can have unlimited entries into the shorter race and making more money (that's what the aim is right) ?

    I think my mother in law would go faster downhill than that.... if we can get her on a bike that is ...

    We im still surprised that this happened but now I can say im not surprised ! This should NEVER have happened.... im gutted to hear that someone will have back surgery and on that age .....? This could affect his life (I hope it doesn't and I hope hes back soon). it just shows you how FAAAAAAR behind we are in Cycling and in the world overall when it comes to respect for cyclists on the roads! I too ride on those roads and the farm owners and workers (driver) have total disregard for us... if I had to count the number of times I nearly got ran over by them ill never stop counting... its shocking !!! Same thing when we had tour of SA (think it was 2011) when drivers threatened to drive into the cyclists lanes and run them over... "wat de *&^* soek hulle op die pad" is what I saw !!! I totally agree with what everyone said here so far....

    I love this.... thank you PPA !!! Its about time someone uses their weight on these type of guys hitting us on the roads... Ill make sure I pay all my PPA subs asap every year...as this for sure goes a long way ! #staywiderofthePPArider

    Yip.... I'm getting more details on this... maybe ill start the topic. We will be emailing PPA about this also! I just want the cyclist involved to come out as the wife was just a witness as was many others...

    Just want to find out if there was a topic started on the driver (lady driver) that hit a cyclist in the last 20km on purpose ??? There were eye witnesses... the wife also witnessed this and we have the reg number of the vehicle... Maybe the cyclist that was hit should post it... if he is a hubber, apparently many people witnessed this.

    Might to off the topic here... but why don't we get the organizers to have "more" races finish uphill? I'm sick of the usual flat rides and big bunches coming in together... the 99er race is my absolute favourite !!! This separates the strong from the weak ! Just my 2cents... PPA maybe take note ? Oh...im no climber btw...

    I Coach myself... get up at 03:45 3 times a week and 2 rides on a weekend = 5... ill never be pro so cycling is FUN to me....I enjoy what I do and I don't want to stress about numbers etc.

    I read somewhere there's a start-up company that require some funds before they launch the worlds cheapest power meter... I think its was like $250 if im not to far off. Anyone have real info into this?

    Great news !!! Its loooong overdue to move to a better team... well any team that would assist their GC leader ! Just hope Mollema will be his super domistique and not ride for himself in the giro vuelta....lets see
