  1. 1. Purito 2. Quintana
  2. No.. they 2 different types.
  3. I didn't know Purito was riding…if he is hell win it in my books…hands down!!
  4. Hell do well but i don't think hell win…maybe 3rd. Team leader pressure plays a big role!
  5. I use to be the one that defends cyclist all the way .. doesn't matter who's fault it was… After Burry's death our clubs decided we will stop at lights etc. And we have … but sadly i hardly see anybody even slowing down anymore.. i now see what the opposition is telling me and sadly my eyes are opening to the fact that most of us skip lights and ride like hooligans. I will never forget our dear friend Burry.. and i hoped this would get us to stop at these places and obey the law but as anything else it was short lived. Thanks for the guys that still stop at lights ...
  6. It all depends on how hard you race it.. i found that normal rides i get many 1000's on them .. secret is cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning!!! Get yourself a chain wear measure… and check it every now and again and I'm sure it will last you long !! I get better mileage from cheaper mid range chains for some reason!
  7. The silverback doesn't weigh anywhere near 7.5kg… I've been to 3 bike shops (depending on size) they all weigh around 8.05 to 8.25 etc… I also saw the website said something like 7.6 kg but thats not the case indeed. Go to the shop and weigh it..youll see. Some people might regard silverback as inferior but that because south africa is "brand focussed"..nothing wrong with the silverback and best value for money if you ask me. I never had one but the okes that does says its perfect! Scott has some good deals also and with lower prices than the bigger brands.
  8. so….this is sooooo shocking to say the least!! Im sooo sorry for what happened, i too would not let this go and go legal route!! On that note what the hell is a "grey import" when it come to this not being a real pinarello? Im my books its either real or not…so what is grey ? Correct me if I'm wrong please…? If there's more than one case…. have them investigated .. also might be good idea to report to SARS for various reasons.. chance is if someones is doing that kind of business i wouldn't be surprised if they dodge their TAX also!!
  9. Ok thanks.. will check out and see what i can get.. thinking of maybe a sram rival 10 sp deraillure then.
  10. Hi Hubbers, I have an old 105 group set and the front Derailleur is a braze on (the ones you tie around the round tube). Now I'm upgrading to a carbon frame (aero) so theres no round tube anymore and it comes standard with a "clamp on" derailleur mechanism. My question is… what can i do to get my old deraillure on the frame? Im on 9 speed still and couldn't find a "clamp on deraillure" to buy to make it work? Im not sure if the 10spd ones will be compatible or what to do?
  11. Well.. regardless of who's responsibility it is to make cycling better.. i feel they should start with schools.. If cycling can become a "school sport" meaning in every school as possible our future champs will rise without funding and well see them come out the ranks. Then from there we can easily see who's the next Daryl Impey's etc. As with rugby once it become something everybody is doing (in school) well see riders that might compete in europe.. i travel a lot to europe and i always say they have a cycling culture there… and i believe thats what we need to focus on. If you start young you'll never loose those skills ! Just my 2 cents..
  12. I think we all disappointed in him…but that said you got a HUGE part of history there…i won't sell it if i were you but if you want..sell it on ebay so that his american diehard fans will pay you in $$$$$ …the currency makes it worth it also! You probably get more than might think…then spend the money on a nice Bike !!
  13. I got mine last week also…to be honest when i opened the box i was well impressed with the stand..heavier than expected that meant good quality to me… stand is fantastic but… the clamp..i clamp my bike very tight but when turning the wheels the bike moves a lot actually…so I'm a little frustrated about the clamp. Also I'm not expecting this clamp to last long… imo. For the money and minor repair jobs it should somewhat put a smile on your face.
  14. I would rather ask the guy behind me to record the video…that way ill be in the video and not just a random ride that could have been anybody's… on that note can you guys get nice "stills" from the "already recorded" video? Thing is that special moment are rearly cought on photo but you can always get one from the video…. or does the quality let you down ??
  15. I should really get with the program of training with a power meter… but can anybody tell me what it would cost to have "any power meter" on my bike ? Im unsure what they start on really ?
  16. Hope they catch the driver!!! This is getting out of hand ...
  17. I normally find all my repair questions on youtube…and its a video so it will be of far better help! Try it who knows!
  18. Ride your bike to races…..win win situation!
  19. Im sooooo sick to my core about this hitting us….. i won't even express how i feel! and why is the taxi hit on the right? or was photo swopped round? Johan is probably the nicest guy i have ever met in cycling!
  20. I know Johan... Get well soon buddy !!!
  21. Don't let them test Chuck norris …. please don't ..hell breath all the remaining air into his lungs and well all die!
  22. I saw huge specials on CRC… might be worth a look (if they got any of those).
  23. Sounds like they had done you in bigg time! I always pay a very little amount and if i divide it through my purchase its less than 16% in total so you need to investigate why you paid sooo much ! Unless you had clothing (including helmet) shipped here.
  24. Please upload the pics of your creation, should be an interesting build (for me i which i could sit a "trap" on the same spot but for some reason its the most boring ride in the world) but its great for weather situations and zone training etc.
  25. Nothing is faster than a road bike….!! whoop whoop! Remember MTb's are build for off road etc. road bikes are build to go fast and to be light! They both great in their own right..but on the road .."road" will win! On dirt..you know
