  1. Well done Porky! Glad to see there are still some caring individuals out there! I often find that when I'm cycling on a busy road that motorists actually do not consider how close to the pavement one rides. Instead I allow myself enough space so as to move to the left when a large vehicle such as a truck passes me by. (Not so much as to tick the motorists/truck driver off, but just enough to prevent the truck's vacuum from sucking me in). This is especially useful where roads are just wide enough for two vehicles to pass each other such as Kalk Bay areas etc. Motorists often will not pass when they have to take into account how close they have to come to you when overtaking and hopefully/probably won't until they are sure that they won't pose a hazard to approaching vehicles or vehicles alongside them.
  2. Hunter is immortal. He deserves all the credit for his win in the TDF. Boonen wins when McEwen is not there, Ullrich would have won as many tours if Lance was not there. I would have won a local league ride if 90% of the riders were not there!
  3. Of course Robbie isn't that fast. His team 'boxed him in' all the way through the TdF while the other sprinters like Zabel and Boonen were attempting breakaways and closing down others! Like F... Come on' date=' the guy is pure class. I was watching "Hell on wheels" where one guy mentioned that every rider wants to wina stage in the TdF because it makes you 'immortal' in cycling. Remember that every world class sprinter aims to peak there and only if you prove yourself there can you truly say you are one of the best. I am sure that Robbie is not in peak condition at the moment, but remember that he is a sprinter and that he won the KING OF THE MOUNTAINS at the Giro. Has that escaped everybody? Now if that's not a slap in the face of every climber out there I don't know what is! Plus, if you don't get that, you really don't get cycling... Not that fast? Ag please...[/quote'] Well said WH. Besides at the Tour prior to winning the stage, he was very close . Stage 1 - 4th,Stage 2 - 5th,Stage 4 - 2nd,Stage 6 - 8th,Stage 11 - 1st,Stage 12 - 3rd,Stage 20 - 4th ,2nd Point Jersey! It was just a matter of time. His best chance however was on the day he won it, and he took it with both hands.
  4. Hellooo, Bruce, BikeMax ... Anybody Home!!
  5. I'm now really starting to get fed up with this bitching and moaning about the state of the country! To begin with, the people who are now in power were given an F!@%# up country to start off with that was on the brink of a civil war. Now I agree that we are not doing fantastic right now, but bitching and moaning does not solve anything. Tell yourself enough times that you are no good, and you'll start believing it. I guess it's time to dust yourself off.. pick up your bike and ride it...
  6. Ja ja, we're all still paying for some guys stupidity who thought that he could banish non-whites to the outskirts and take away their rights. The result?....
  7. Damn! Wish I had legs like those! As it stands, very few men in the Male elite bunch can compete with that!
  8. If you get inaccurate readings, but consistent readings, then fine. Which I doubt you'll get. However, there is nothing more frustrating than getting inconsistent readings from a powermeter. My advice, get yourself a Powertap.
  9. Electronic shifters?
