  1. For your sake I hope Copperhead is done with this forum, coz he's going to tell you "arrive earlier"..
  2. Easy, just ad a dust cloud, 30+ riders and the front ox admiring the clouds above haha! No use crying over spilt milk, we got more than what we paid atleast, bargain!
  3. I see they've rectified it,...damn! haha,...anyway, a friend of mine were also done in with his time where the guy that he finish with ended getting 9th and himself 15th..
  4. Wessel maybe you can shed some light here
  5. So, here's a bit of an interesting twist. I received my results via sms and verified it on MTN site yesterday, and they've adjusted my time taking into account (I assume) the A bunche's detour, the winner Nico Phitzinmyer (excuse the spelling) together with most of the leading results were also adjusted by a wopping 1 hour exactly...So why would the organisors do this (unless its an error by the timing system) if it was the riders mistake? Were that sign not perhaps bumped over by one of the Elite ladies taking the turn, and if Nico was in the front, surely it would've been easy for him to see the marker (had it been there) Controversy controversy. ..who will really know, imo if you change something, you've accepted blame..

  7. atleast they love...hehe!
  8. Swart Kat, no need to be a ass here, its very easy to miss a sign, it was extremely dusty and like Jorrie said, the first guys miss it everyone just follows, so no ones to blame these things happen, your result at a mountain bike race is the sum of all its parts, whether the calculation works in your favor or not
  9. CRAZY. Well done on finishing. Eina bene!!
  10. That does sound like it was the master plan! What tires were you riding? I only run Rocket Ron front and Racing Ralph rear Non Snakeskin and (touch wood) no sidewall failure as yet
  11. It does take a chunk out of your motivation I must admit! But a couple of "shut up and pedal" words from me to me got me to the end! How did you go?
  12. Hats off to you guys, everytime I saw a 75/ultra split I thought thank God I dont have to go up there!
  13. Was good seeing you again as well Jorrie! I also hope it will still be around for years to come, really great event in a really beautiful part of the world. I must say, besides the extra 10km detour, I've found it tougher than last year, I think its a combination of dry rocky terrain and then the heat as well today, but like I said I still enjoyed it and happy to have done a nice big ride. Keep well man!
  14. The marker at the 75km and 20km split fell over or were missing or just missed due to all the dust and the A batch all went straight instead of right, we realised that 5kms in and the rest was history
  15. Think they must still load it onto their main site, they had scanners attached to iphones at the finish line, so probably did a direct feed or something, only thing I can think of
  16. usually appears on Saseeding, but I dont know if it will be on there so soon. I however received an sms with my time and result a while ago
  17. Jorrie, I shouldve listened to you man!! damn! Ended up doing 83kms, ag what the heck, still had fun (although it being suffering)
  18. Thats the only reason, very crappy weather for two years. Gravel Travel route even nicer to ride than Tulbagh, including the Wellington trails etc + you cant beat it for being central to all surrounding areas over the mountains.
  19. Has the routes changed from last year? It would be great if it didn't, true reflection of one getting better.....or not
  20. Definitely worth the little effort getting there, top class event and a fantastic vibe.
  21. They might have done it manually in the past, but they now have these "scanner tunnels" (if you want to call it that), that picks up the timing on you board, I saw this at Gravel Travel last year

...Is she a man??? You mean Ariane
  23. The permanent MTN SAS board you purchase has a timing chip on the back
