  1. Well, if the Game Changers is to be believed, riding with a massive erection can really affect cadence and aerodynamic positioning. (Under no circumstances is that impugning Josh as a team-mate. I mean it literally.)
  2. Is that the year you get a suspicious rash?
  3. Sorry, Patch.
  4. It's not farting. It's 'Channelling your inner cow' or at worst, 'Exorcising the demons'! Can I get a Hallelujah?
  5. As someone who was asked by one of my athletes to watch the movie to determine if it was something she could follow, I found it mostly a gross misrepresentation of the science. In fact just simply googling the performance of the athletes since 2017 when it was filmed disproves the thesis. And the quoted scientific studies are either totally misused or are actually funded by people with a direct financial interest in the result. That doesn't mean everything is false - I myself very rarely eat red meat nowadays, if at all. But as a true assessment of a vegan diet in performance it just isn't kosher or halaal. But I will say this as my one serious contribution to the direction to the thread: - anyone who says that the exploitation of animals is OK, and that we could not survive a vast reduction in using animal products, worldwide, is wrong. - anyone who says that a strict vegan diet is optimal for human performance, is also wrong. The truth, like *sigh* most things, lies somewhere in the middle and involves an ethical decision balanced against optimal nutrition.
  6. A serious request to both sides of this argument before posting more 'studies' (and yes, I am as guilty of despising specious arguments as anyone but every now and then I do try to find my holistic chastity balls and try again) : https://www.google.com/amp/s/myglance.wordpress.com/2011/01/03/the-immorality-of-disrespect/amp/
  7. I have heard from a friend that this is a similar experience to Viagra?
  8. Jurasalem is not just an artichoke.
  9. Ahem... EBikes? Trump? Veganism? Religion? 3 are real problems and the other is 'Just nuts!'
  10. Finally watched Into the Spider-verse. 10/10 For all those who liked Dead-pool and what is actually art of a very high calibre.
  11. As someone who tries, but does not always succeed, at being entirely rational when it comes to conflicting data, there always comes a point where emotion oozes out from under its rock and people get defensive and then there are ads for hominems. But the bottom line is that educating yourself with as open a mind as possible, and not taking yourself to seriously, generally gets you at least half way to the truth. (Unless you are in NZ, of course, where you are never halfway to anywhere of import, unless it's Mordor.)
  12. It can't be a religion, because based on your own theory there is no way a vegan can do the heavy lifting required to support their faith, what with all the malnutrition?
  13. No, never said that. My wife is vegan and she... Uhm, on second thought.
  14. Jesus H Martinez, there is some wild 'science' on this thread... (And let me say that as someone who supports the vegan orinciple but who is 'hypocritical' or, alternatively, self-aware enough to make a concious choice to eat limited amounts of meat based on a holistic assessment of health, welfare and conversely, the negative effects of pure veganry, or as it appears to some 'devilry' on people. The science is not settled on this, people. There are many aspects - global warming, personal health, overpopulation/nutritional production, eg. I know which way I think it leans (heavily), currently hence my support above. Which brings me to my main point. Even if your answer is 'I don't know which side the science falls' there is still an ethical decision to be made. Because that is where personal preference over the facts, and the associated hypocrisy sit, of which I am fully cognisant I still have some Separate those and stop mangling them together and perhaps we may even have some kumbaya...) I mean, kambucha.
  15. Having a beef with a vegan in a veganism thread is a bloody waste of time. Well done, anyway... like a nice, thick porterhouse, don't be blue.
  16. As someone very close to that world, I would suggest that even over here, testing is not that great unless you are in the elite leagues, although there is a concerted effort to atleast make people aware of the dangers. Let's put it this way - Michael Phelps is an extreme physical specimen with some extraordinary physical gifts including a rare genetic predisposition to lactate tolerance and a torso that was extremely long relative to his legs (which is perfect for swimming) and a wo rk ethic second to none. And his 200m fly record was smashed.
  17. I think you are are talking about the amount of compensation? Over-compensation is also an issue if adequacy...
  18. Adequacy is not a requirement for buying a Hummer.
  19. From your fingers to God's eyes, mate. If I was a member of a terror cell, my path to 72 annoyances would be through a swan dive into Twitter HQ.

  21. A petition to rebrand them as electro-couches will get them sold at all home depots and save the congestion tax. Problem solved.
  22. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/dan-martin-im-still-replaying-chris-froomes-dauphine-crash-in-my-head/ Gees, they must have roped in a while bunch of outsiders ahead of time. They are the most gifted team on the planet.
  23. Thor Bollox, my old mate!
  24. There was a diving bell thing that 'went down under the sea' - remember that. And the whale skeleton. Gees, I just went back in time to the late 80's.
  25. Isn't Blofeld the bad guy on the Bond movies?
