  1. Is that because of the dagga thread?
  2. In PE in 83 or '4 we had this thing that was the size of a modern day supercomputer that had the class doing nothing but maths problems on it. I mean like the times tables in Standard 3, not sophistimicated stuff like actual graphics.
  3. Yes, here it is significantly more, but then things like orange juice are also ludicrously expensive. Think Thor the Second is right though - seems to be that most restaurants have it as an afterthought. Although we did go to an 8 course degustation menu for our anniversary and they made 8 veggie courses for her. And I can say with absolute honesty that the one mushroom dish was one of the best things I have ever tasted... but the sauce was high on the list of reasons why, not the shrooms themselves.
  4. Hahaha! My dearest tried a faux patty on me the other day and it was similar to eating a dry rice cake that had all flavour removed, and some additional dispepsia added for herbal relief. That being said, by hook, by crook, and by dint of time constraints I have had almost no meat for 5 days except for a chicken breast. And other than a bad temper, lack of humour and constipation I feel great. (Humour, of course. Actually we went out for my b-day last week and she had a vegan burger that was actually bloody delicious. But rather expensive. Can see why only the e-Lite can afford a really flavorsome meal, to some degree.)
  5. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oi, oi, oi
  6. EBikes are the future of mobility scooters.
  7. They weren't crucifying, but some were a little cross, nonetheless.
  8. Are you sure you just weren't traumatised by the bib try-on incident of '16 and are over-compensating? ????????????????????????
  9. Looks like an enduro helmet visor... ????
  10. A funicular uses gears to get up steep hills with a motor. Probably would get up and down hills without ruining trails and creating Strava lines. Ban EBikes and just ride the train for your thrills, sir.???????????? Funiculeeee, funiculaaaahhh ????????
  11. This technical evaluation makes it sound like a very expensive hair dryer?
  12. https://www.news.com.au/finance/business/media/bringing-home-the-bacon-offensive-to-vegans/news-story/8980653eddd9d27919024b6489c10f07 When you know a good thing has gone too far again, sadly.
  13. Finally watched 'Get Out' - as a horror, not particularly effective. As a social satire, thought it was fantastic, but not exactly Oscar worthy. (Although what really is these days...)
  14. I have never drunk coffee nor tea, and rely on tap over bottled. Theoretically, I am so virtuous I could kill baby seals with pure CO2 and no one could be offended!
  15. Weirdly, in my own way I have arrived at a similar construct. I have stopped lamb, pork, etc and only eat cow and chicken now. But ONLY because I simply cannot eat the stuff my vegan wife does. I have tried but other than a few really yummy dishes, I have failed. Vegan bolognaise and such is just vile. Yes I know I am not perfect, but I have also seriously cut back on milk and other dairy... The problem is I keep telling my wife that the big plastic bottles that she gets her supposedly better water in are far more hazardous to other animals and the environment, and the hypocrisy of perfectly fine tap water kick in. In my book, as long as you are reasonably consistent and don't virtue signal like the 'average' (yes, I know) vegan you are making the place better than it was yesterday.
  16. Weel, after you had the pleasant sounding spading be successful you could look forward to 'graunching' which I think is actually what your gears do when you haven't lubed properly...
  17. #patchelicious #niknaks?
  18. I am fully cognisant of this as I rely on a club for my livelihood, and from a legal POV you may be correct. But that is not how it works in practice - if you want to keep your 'members' who aren't inclined to partake in decisions you still distribute the minutes of meetings where decisions are made, or you send out an explanation, especially if it involves revenue. Edit: just to be complete, I would give my left bollock to have this kind of value on my new doorstep here, so I have no issue with the actual decision.
  19. I still receive the MTB newsletter as I miss 'our' trails muchly. I see Patrick has also dipped his toe into this discussion. Am I the only one who thinks all sides of this discussion are at fault for approaching this from the wrong angle? 1) I think the Club should have explained the increase when announcing the new rates. Treat your clients with respect and not as if they are boundless bank vaults. 2) The ad hominem attacks by Bod et al on Thermophage are uncalled for because he might just have some valid points, but see 3) below. Stupid, unquestioning support of an entity AND dissing the 'enemy' at the same time is more a sign of an inability to formulate an argument than a sign of correctness. 3) Thermophage's approach (and I have previously engaged with him on a very similar topic a while ago, he can appear to be a fan of scratched vinyl) may have valid opinion in it. But it is just an opinion, which others do share. But it seems he hasn't followed the right path and even Patrick is not a fan, it seems. You know the Club now has attention on this forum - put up a poll and get some ACTUAL data on current members who want different trails. When I smashed my pelvis it was on the most benign part of Meerendal because of my own stupidity, so I actually do agree with you about the danger thing. Just get some evidence and you won t need the pointless arguments? Of the three the Club seems to have sorted out their side... My 2 Aussie cents (which are worth more)
  20. You used to say that about me.
  21. Sounds like my boet and I and Little Britain. Whoosh over my head.
  22. What about the downhill, downwind ones?
  23. I know it's not a movie but my wife and I have now binge watched all 5 seasons of 'Brooklyn Nine Nine'. Funniest thing I have seen in ages, especially given my aged outlook.
  24. Gees, Stretch, lately you have been sounding like the old guy shouting 'Get off my lawn'. And the memory going too... Although to be fair, our move over this side has been hectic on us, too, and the Depends are starting to cost a fortune.
