  1. When you have a woman's wrongs and can't separate them from women's rights, there's no more left to discuss. Right?
  2. Sexism (or testosterrorism) is rampant. Edit font alert
  3. Just watched A Small Favour. Best way to describe it is Gone Girl smashed together with a buddy comedy. Paul Feig always makes funny movies but this is quite odd. Was good fun though if you like murder mysteries that make you laugh.
  4. I can see why the cartoon is offensive, and the artist seems really clueless. I still don't think the umpire was sexist, nor racist. Does my landing on the different shades of grey on the two topics make me: A) inconsistent B) racist C) sexist D) hypocritical E) deviant, but spankings are fun F) all of the above G) none of the above Let's plaaaaaaaaayyy 'Attach A Label!'
  5. https://www.news.com.au/sport/tennis/incredible-truth-about-chair-umpire-in-serena-williams-controversy/news-story/d0411d6458db5fdbd74dfc58b0f5ecb8 Perhaps this is the real scandal.
  6. I have edited it fr clarity as it was a bit ambiguous (and my still be., but hopefully not).
  7. In this instance, circumstantially.
  8. I totally agree with you. There are people like that who can behave poorly if a woman is involved because they treat them differently. But I have now seen Serena's example over and over and I don't see the harassment, though. Like I said above, the other umpire getting off his chair to coddle Kyrgios is sexist because he would never have done that to a woman (or maybe he would have, but that's a weasel thought) but that umpire's behaviour was contrary to the rules and/or ethics of the game. I'll ask it another way: would you teach your kid to behave as Serena did, or rather to react to someone behaving in that way in a consistent logical way (as the umpire did) ? Which is more likely to result in personal growth? Unless the ump was treating Osaka the same way (ie badly, as a woman) , or her (Osaka's) coach was also coaching and the ump ignored it, that isn't an -ism at all. And even if he did, that is bias, at best. PS: I can agree with James Woods for entirely different reasons. I believe all of us are responsible for our own behaviour but that her behaviour wasn't bad because she was a woman, and not even in spite of her being a woman (which is as sexist), but because her behaviour was terrible, full stop. You could just as easily fall into a 'he was racist' trap because she is an African American - that is at least as valid. What we can do is have a discussion whether it warranted a game default - but that is a different discussion. As in Cornet's case, the rule can be sexist, and by resolving it the Tennis Assoc admitted as much. But unless the response to this situation is to change the rules to allow her (Serena) to behave that way because she is a woman, I submit that the umpire cannot have been sexist.
  9. You misunderstand me. The idiot who handled the kyrgios match is the one at fault. His handling of that match was wrong. Call it what it was and I'll be happy. But Serena's behaviour was not gender specific. The umpire reacted to it as he should have. Cornet's was sexist because it was a different stupid rule. Serena's wasn't. Making hers a sexist issue is becoming the thing you are fighting against, by objectifying the correct response by the umpire. Her 'they all do it' is exactly the same as her coach reacting as 'they all do it' or the Lance Armstrong justification. By all means identify the specific act of sexism in tennis which was the Kyrgios case. But don't contextualise this into something it isn't.
  10. I think your appendix says it all. Your first paragraph, if said by others in the format of 'I don't condone how Donald Trump behaves but...', would have most of us debating it's logical merit, so I must call the same on this one. She behaved terribly. Fix the way the inconsistency of behaviour is handled with the men and women, and don't bring bogus feminist rhetoric into it. * Perhaps my view is biased by the other girl on the other side of the net having to deal with that nonsense, whether as a result of Serena herself or Tennis bodies not having their act together.
  11. Why, thank you!
  12. I honestly donvt know why the leg ends who don't ride with bombs and such don't just Velcro a small one to their backs and pretend it's the radio on a Tour timetrial. It's very aero under the regulation weekend skinsuit and they can also pretend they have a friend talking in their ear through the 'radio'.
  13. When you are physically able, purchasing an ebike comes with a white flag, yes.
  14. Yes, but even though it was solved, Sven never contributed.
  15. If he is on what he looks to be on, he'll have short socks. And jelly beans.
  16. Real men wear short socks. Said it before, and I'm not saying it again.
  17. A couple, perhaps. Maybe even a few if you attach a side car.
  18. Living as I now am south of Perth, I have heard legends of those who ride the whole trail. Awesome story. I can't imagine I will be able to do the whole thing in one go due to time constraints but must give parts a go!
  19. Is 'motorcycling' like 'Netflix and chill'? I am not up to date with these modern euphemisms.
  20. Totally agree with you. My use of 'make' was incorrect - I meant it to be a weakness of character, or a positive trait of being competitive taken to the extreme. But I am sure she is experiencing a truth injection which might benefit her long term growth.
  21. My friend was part of a team in a large team event containing the doper above. I understand hearsay, and know the difference between correlation and causality, but at the time her comment was the lady was a monumental pain in the butt and more importantly, hyper-competitive. Sometimes that is all it takes to make one take the wrong path.

  23. Make sure therevs no 5 ounces of 6mega5testoboostmegaEPOupNOxextra in Grandma's recipe! What Grandpa does these days could shame a bonobo.
  24. That is either one big one or a lot of little pricks. #dildon't
  25. He didn't say 'brilliant documentary' at least...
