  1. I love my Sesta Pro with an SBC frame. Except for a few niggles here and there as discussed on the overheated brake thread and the front shock which also needed to be sent back for a warranty fix. But my goodness, when it rides true, it is awesome. (Yes I know that isn't a glowing 'it' s perfect' review but it is unbelievably comfortable and the frame is just phenomenal, and it handles like dream.)
  2. That is not tossing your toys. That is not even having a wobbly. I'd say more 'polite request for information'. I will bet you anything up to and including one South African Rand that you will get something back like this: Dear Customer, We are also confused. Confused about why so many of our valued clients are confused. The T's and C's were quite clear, and our system is foolproof. Sorry to hear about your virus. TRAIN! EXERCISE! ROCK IT! KICK ASS! Yours in fitness, The Disco-team (That is a kinda, sorta paraphrase of the response I got when I politely enquired... Except about the virus)
  3. My 2hr ride from yesterday isn't even showing... But my 90min hard spin this AM is already. Probably some blip in their system.
  4. Nah, don't worry, bud, as they say in Afrikaans, my tongue was firmly in my kiss. Actually forcing myself to rest - haven't had more than a day off since Jan and my body, like a computer, says 'No'.
  5. Oh well, had a quick squizz this AM and see I am up to 800. Been in bed for two days... Do I: a) charge ahead, do a Myles and push for 208bpm? B) get better and maybe miss my smoothie... #DiscoverYncentives #fuedforthought
  6. Without wishing to sound crass, 'lack of systems integration' is just a synonym for 'apartheid' when things go wrong due to a fundamental lack of planning or understanding.
  7. Make the watch so tight on your wrist that it cannot misread the HR. And if your hand goes numb, you will also have a reasonable excuse for not executing the drop shots properly..?
  8. After 'CHampion Of Plummeting' and 'Descender Of Outrageous Speed' didn't go down as well as the cyclists themselves, KOM was expropriated. True story.
  9. God, I wish I was still a teenager.. Would get the points without ever leaving my roo... Er... Oops, TMI, SORRY!
  10. Moderator activity has never been clearly understood, and can lead to obscure activity deletion.
  11. Ag, he's probably just grumpy cos he had to watch the gap jump being mangled at Lombards on Sat. So upset he's getting the points wrong...
  12. I had 3500pts last week and stayed on 700. But forgot my HR monitor for Darling Brew this AM. So either it's midweek effort... Ag, yes, midweek effort it is.
  13. If you like fast, flowing single track with not too much technical stuff, this is for you.
  14. My favourite race of last year and in for the 42km tomorrow. With 15km before the first ST it should be nicely spread out, but if you hear 'Trackkkkkkk!' it will be the guy behind me. Promise!
  15. That after you took it in for repairs? Or just after you threw it at the wall?
  16. Actually, quite weird you mention that. It happened to me at a store the other day and I thought it was odd. But nothing untoward happened. And I just got a new card. Everywhere else I have to pin it.
  17. A luau at the Kauai would be like a pig talking with an apple in it's mouth.
  18. Adding to the list of excruciatingly small first world problems : someone at Disco in their whizzdumb decided that Kauai could only use the Smart card reader and stopped the use of the pin number, so noone could get their smoothies at our Kauai this AM. Is it : A) a computer glitch B) Adrian Gore's diabolical plan to reduce Smoothie costs. I ask you...
  19. I think in the Bikehub healthy salad, you're the avocado... Cos I think he is nuts.
  20. Vivek, I am with you, in that with HR monitor it is a peace of old pie at 700 pts for us that train. But do a week pretending you don't own one, like most people who aren't sports enthusiasts. Then 700, 800, 900 isn't really feasible without fiddling. My OH has never got a 300 ever, and she is now at 600 points. She is going to pay off the watch and go back to training as before, because it is now ACTUALLY impacting her. Trying to fiddle and go to gym, etc, is having a reverse affect compared to the activities that are currently getting her 100pts and helped her drop almost 10kg before the change. The scale is rubbish, or as someone said, they need to communicate how they will increment people, cos up to now it has been terrible. An hour at 50% is always better than a card swipe and a Kauai.
  21. Ja, there are definitely two valid points of view that are not mutually exclusive. As I said many moons ago, the ability to fulfil your part of a contract is essential. If you are unable to do that, the source of the inability needs to be sorted. But given the ability to read a kumquat at 150bpm, I wonder if the users just haven't found the hidden 'Plants v human' setting. Www.applefruitwatchsetting.com
