  1. Sigh, where were you when I was crocked!? For future ref, what is a co-payment? (Had a crash on Sat, and but for landing on my face, I may very well have had to go again to ER)
  2. No, I am on Delta. I had already visited the Emergency room earlier in the year, so my savings were kaput. And couldn't stay overnight as my OH was in Jhb.
  3. Same with me in Dec. All u had to do was be booked in overnight and it would have come out of your hospital benefit.
  4. My Garmin 500 synced yesterday morning, no problem. Must be same intermittent issues. Just wait til tomorrow
  5. Me too. Having connectivity issues this while week, but everything else is cool today
  6. You have to do it from the Vitality site. There is a link from the App to Garmin in my case, but not once has it linked on my phone. Under 'Votality' there is a 'Link device' page
  7. Evanescence, from Latin: the essence of Evan.
  8. Many of those who put petal to the metal would wrecking ball that wall! Or at least I think that whenever I put my foot down on a particular slippery righthand switchback!
  9. Sadly, it only takes one to set an annoying president. (sic)
  10. Not quite sure what you mean, but if I get you right, T's and C's only apply until such time as they are tested in court. I suspect if someone with deep pockets challenged the Epic's decision, they'd have a decent chance of winning. (But I would never be so glad to be proved wrong!)
  11. I have refrained from commenting cos I am torn between my personal view that they should be banned for life, and my considered version that agrees that what BDO says is correct. The is no right to ban someone from a public event even if they are past dopers, if the legislation says they can compete. We have to lobby the rule makers to change the rules to ban all dopers from competing for prize money in future (or by extension making doping the equivalent of criminal fraud).
  12. LOL, nah... But he did rise from a swamp to inflict decisive defeat?
  13. I think if the opening sentence is they 'drew first blood' we need to be sensitive to innuendo.* * - ja, right

  15. Ja, not sure what this all this is about, but wearing a HRM on here and working each other up to 300 pts is cheating.
  16. That's the thing I'm still confused about and which noone there side is able or willing to answer re the desired reaction from the average person. They did a top down implementation and forgot about the size of most bottoms. What meeting are you having?
  17. You are too young for Disco's formula. Should make you feel better!
  18. I have no doubt for my cycling the shorter harder sets are much more beneficial. But if I was on a weight loss programme I wouldn't do that. But then I also have no ambitions to do the Epic. 4-5 hours hard and I start to lose interest.
  19. I have been my own experiment on this stuff for so many years it's become almost second nature. After putting on 8kg in one week while I was on rest break waaay back in the day, I got quite interested in the whole process and now have held by weight constant within 2 or 3kg for 5 years while fluctuating on the fat %. It's crazy how sensitive we are to diet - but the one other thing exercise based is that for the regular person, a very hard 30min exercise will almost certainly fail, as their fitness goal will not be the same as ours. A long walk between 120-140bps will be far better as it's achievable - if they don't immediately go stock up at the Beef n Burger and store it all up again, which is what most of the short trainers do.
  20. Are you using this programme for strength and conditioning or for metabolising fat, cos while it will improve your strength and speed, you're barely getting to glycogen depletion in order to start metabolising? And you know if you put even a regular gym bunny, or worse a Non-exerciser, onto the next bike and drilled them at that pace they'd be revisiting their lunch pretty soon. And most guys and gals don't want to train to attack those ninja climbs I missed on Sunday
  21. I thought I'd wait til this AM to see what happened to my attempt- turned my Garmin off at 1h25 to keep 300 points but averaged 152bpm. No chance I could train everyday like that though. Got it to 173bpm up a steep rocky section but almost needed a lie down.
