  1. Me too. We must have issues!
  2. You have to be specific because from the wrong angle my thong looks like an eye patch.
  3. Yeah, me too. Sarcasm and I are bosom buddies so Mr Pool is up my alley.
  4. I think I've gotten to that point in life here I look around, see the state of the world, and long to just feel like a 12 year old who has nothing to worry about except the fate of half the universe. Look it isn't the greatest movie of all time but it went past in the blink of an eye and I left feeling exhilarated so I give it a good 8 out of 10. The end is a cheat cos you know they will come back due to some deus ex machina but I am a very forgiving person in my spare time.
  5. Karma is a bitchy chameleon, guys. Isn't the correct response to wave your ring finger in the air, and wave it like you just don't care?
  6. One if the commandments is 'Do not covet they neighbours ox'. If that's not relevant to where this thread went, I don't know what is...
  7. I couldn't do it myself but I reckon if everyone is totally open it has more chance of not ending in a disaster. I am sure many here would confirm that it s not the actual cheating that gets you but the lying and dishonesty that follows cos that takes away the power for the 'innocent' party to decide. And 'on the sly' is just 'honestly' rearranged. Maybe that's a sign...
  8. You mean at work? Or...?
  9. Nah, I reckon older viewers when looking for good viewing will rather do it at home on TV with series that have more depth (and more T&A for the dodgy dragon folk) than sit in teenage movie houses, especially in SA which is was getting out of hand for me before I left. The only reason we go to an actual movie now is if it's a spectacle to make me feel 12 again - and if we get lucky it also has a proper story and adult sensibilities. Even a deeply philosophical, intellectual movie about the right of man to take control of his environment with emotional dispassion while under extreme duress (like 'Die Hard'), I'd rather see on my couch.
  10. Yip, I believe there is a new lady super on the way
  11. Damn, that Infinity War was a great experience. Now they better not cobble up some easy solution or I will be very cross.
  12. After the tip, be prepared she doesn't give you the shaft. So many 'been tricked on Tindr' and 'grifted on Grindr' stories about these days. Seems the best pick-up is still a Toyota these days.
  13. Chris, re-read both my post from 3 pages ago about ego and the one above. I am actually agreeing with all your posts about their place and their benefits. And if anyone thinks my representative sample is based on a tjop, they are wrong. Here they are used by everyone including posties to deliver mail. I had a lovely old fella zoom up behind me into a stiff breeze the other week while I was labouring under the misapprehension that I was a half decent cyclist. We chatted for a whole and then he zoomed off - HE said he knows he's not a 'pure' cyclist, apologised for not being able to wait to draft me. All perfectly civilised. Seems only in Africa are there so many labouring under their illusions - on BOTH sides. Getting angry about my post above is exactly the converse of getting angry at those who don't want them on the trails at all - and that was exactly the point of my first post about ego.
  14. You know that's a false equivalence, because downhill racing on real bikes is also a subset of the sport. The 'purity' I spoke of was only meant in a competitive context - cycling has always been human-powered without mechanical/electric assistance, whether marathon or downhill after a skilift up. In the same way, wrt my stupid outboard dugout joke is that one is paddling and the other boating. We just haven't separated them in our little world yet. To complete your skilift analogy as I intended, guys who drive with bike on their car to a race are pure cyclists, guys who drive with an ebike are competing in a race, and may be exerting themselves muchly, but they are not pure cyclists. IMHO in a competitive environment.
  15. Still the biggest problem with this is ego. The ebiker who cannot resist the competition but who can't ccept that he is not a pure cyclist, and the pure cyclist who doesn't like the feeling of being passed by Uncle Bob if Uncle Bob is acting decently on the trails. If both groups accepted that both have different uses and stuck within some logical behaviour all would be well. But that's just happy thinking... Meanwhile I have strapped an outboard to a dugout and entered a local surfski race. Let's see what happens
  16. Never. It's that she blocks the viewers behind sitting there in her in her Hulk costume... Really looking forward to the movie myself... I expect Thor to excite the ladies... ahem... as usual.
  17. Boep? Give the man a six-pack. He deserves it.
  18. Well, DJR is a contraction of Dan Jeronimooooooo is it not?
  19. http://mobi.supersport.com/cricket/south-africa-v-australia-201718/news/180330/Ref_warned_about_Smith_Warner_in_2016 People are in general very forgiving, sometimes against all better judgement. Sometimes we forgive just so that we can feel to be on the moral high ground, sometimes there needs to be proactive intervention so that we do not become the thing we regret about those who commit 'errors'. By that I mean we make errors of judgement by trying to be 'good people' because most of us don't have the vaguely psychopathic personality traits that it takes to become really top international sportspeople, and we share no understanding of their repeated misdeeds. It's the same rubbish that causes evangelicals to support the Orange one. (I'm not saying all players are psychos. I'm saying that in specific circumstances of repeated misdeeds that sometimes 'I'm sorry' has no meaning')
  20. If the brakes don't work, what good is the bell?
  21. Both Smith and Warner have lost IPL contracts worth $2.5m. They could have bought a lot of sand paper with that...
  22. http://www.news.com.au/sport/cricket/david-warners-ball-tampering-comments-resurface/news-story/656fa0b42f207efebe7d506bfc562ffe I love when a hypocritical douche ets his comeuppance...
  23. Even the Prime Minister and government sports agencies are calling for their heads so think there will be fallout. Just hope the devil didn't make them do it...
  24. Being over this side, and being involved in sport myself there is a HUGE emphasis on fair play. Before every sports meet I have been to as a coach there is an oath sworn by each of the groups of the athletes, the coaches and the officials. From afar we don't know how seriously they do take it (well, at a lower level) . The average Joe here is not happy.
