  1. Anriette is commonly called "Prinses"
  2. Do not get this wrong. TCS withdrew on the explicit request of their Manager. Individual persons form TCS may however still technically post on the Hub. They may not post about TCS activities. Hubbers must now scource their own information. TCS please correct me on this if I am wrong.Hendrik Petoors2007-06-18 04:13:41
  3. Is dit die "Prinses" Aspoestertjie daai!!!!?????
  4. But 500 to 700 km and all is shot.... who are you.... the Hulk in disguise??????
  5. Is this important post about the existence of DIE WIELNAAF being hi-jacked in a discussion about avatars!!!!!!!!?????????
  6. oof!!!!!!???????????? Het Dirty Rider jou geklap!!!!!!!!!!
  7. How much paint did you lose in the fracas Daemon??????
  8. You saw it in real life Dirt Rider????? A check out by an expert is ALWAYS better than a bad taste in your mouth that could be your last taste!!!!!!!! Minty, you posted while I was writing this response. I am not a bike frame expert but I do understand the complexity of stresses moments and shock impacts (not shock like suspension) As you say, alu is malleable bit does not like to be bent. It is situated in such a position that it cannot be structurally repaired. It can only be filled with lead!!!!!! Hendrik Petoors2007-06-18 03:45:38
  9. Too late....... the avatar is a rendition of M and Myself!!!!! No obscene posts allowed, not even in a avatar. I WILL click this button So watch out..... OK Modder!!!!!!!
  10. Yup I agree on the Mouse. I desperately need a Avatar. Any suggestions? It must be tandem related though.
  11. That dent is in an area that is higly stressed, where forces generated by the seatpost is transmitted. Rather have it checked for safety and integrity. Nobody will be able to fix the dents. They will only fill them with a body filler. The weaksness induced to the tube by the dent will still be there. My humble opinion is that your frame is shot. The minute folds on the edges shows it is a deep dent and this will affect the structural integrity.
  12. Please introduce me to this character, I am just a lowly domestique with 78 postings!!!!!!! teee heeee!!!!!!
  13. All the above indicate bad chain maintenance. We have now been going on one MTB Tandem main chain for 3500 km. Forces exerted on Tandem chains are much greater than road chains. The tandem was mostly ridden on gravel and low class surfaced roads. Guys you really have to wash and oil your chains regularly..... please!!!!!!! What we do need is a proper cassette wear indicator guage. I one saw one the Rohloff makes. Quite ingenious and I will try to find it again. Looked quite easy to make yourself as well.
  14. The last week must have been the most tumultuous week the Hub had in its short existence. Many thing happened and in retrospect (ok Hindsight IS a pefect art) it all was for the better. If I look at the amount of Hubbers logged in it seems that the numbers are bigger or even more than normal. One thing that has disappeared and that must be the biggest improvement, the petty flaming of fellow hubbers has stopped. We must keep it so. Rather bow out and do not let emotions run away. The following of the last week stands out:- The Kremetart took place. All partaking Hubbers came back smiling. TCS withdrew participation to the Hub. The Hub did not melt down. We lost a few old Hubber friends. Hard work is ongoing behind the secenes to get them back. We need a new photographer(s) that cannot be easily offended. ADMIN took a stance and we hope he sticks to it. Well done ADMIN. The Chit Chat forum moved down the list where it is sometimes not even seen. The only result is that more Hubbers now post on Rant 'n Rave. Threads are still being hi-jacked by everybody. Threads of a non cycling nature still appear, showing that not all Hubbers eat, think and breathe cycling and are after all normal human beings. Looking at all in perspective I think The Hub (Die Wielnaaf) will juts keep on growing will will stay a real discerning voice of Cyclists in South Africa. This messageboard has grasped the attention of a widespread audience and will continue to grow form strength to strength. LONG LIVE THE HUB!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Geography my dear man ...... teee heee !!!!!!!!
  16. Rather go Shimano, they last longer, are smoother and way way wya cheaper!!!!!!! That way you may have beer munny as well!!!!!!!
  17. Steven, the Sugino cranks were extremely good. They were used on Cannondale Tandems. I am perfectly happy with the Shimano Hollowcrank (1) MTB Crankset on the MTB Tandem. What I actually want to do is to upgrade the Road Tandem. I want to make use of "new" technology by using outboard bearings that are the current standard. The Truvativ Elita (I think) tandem cranks are an example. It seems from what you say that Shimano does not cater for Tandem Drivetrains anymore. Why if I may ask ?????? There surely is an growing market and it would be easy to make up an Ultegra set for example with Three Spiders and crank. Not sure how the rear drive will work?????? With two oopising spiders. Seems to em trhat I will have to go for Truvativ/SRAM here. Thanx for the help.
Hendrik Petoors2007-06-17 14:44:33
  19. Nobody know how long we will be here could be another 2 months. They are busy furnishing our apartment that are right at the start of our cycling route. Easy, jy stop by 'n stopstraat ne.... well ek hoop so, hoekom???? Capice??????Hendrik Petoors2007-06-17 14:04:59
  20. Yup glowing comments make their persona feel good. That is what is wrong. Easy they cannot be whatever they choose to be, they live and have to abide in a world dictated by CSA. They need to understand that.Hendrik Petoors2007-06-17 12:55:51
  21. Die Bokke moenienou dink hulle gaan so gelukkig wees teen die All Blacks nie!!!!!!!!
  22. The decision is for management to make, they cannot be half a classic and half a fun ride. Niks plus niks is niks!!!!!!!!
  23. I have always lived in fairly dry conditions. Even in Mozambique that was 100km form the coast. We now live 1 km from the sea. I see that the flat areas on the "spokes" or radians of the disk rotors there is light rust forming. On the chainblades I can spray light oil, but light oil WILL be disastrous on the disk rotors. Centrifucal force will spin the oil onto the brakings surfaces of the rotors. What do I do????? Do I just live with it and regularly clean with a 3M scouring pad? We live in a hotelroom with our Tandem. It is airconditioned and with power failures the whole room "dews" wet. Not very dry conditions!!!!!
  24. I watched highlights of the game and lo and behold..... Butchie really WAS there, wonder why I did not notice him the first time?
  25. Steve, you seem to know. Does Shimano make a "outboard" bearing MTB and Road Tandem Crankset. Out MTB has a ISIS splined Hollowtec (one) MTB tandem Crankset. I want to upgrade the Road Tandem at a later stage, I do know there is a nine speed Ultegra with square taper BB's available. They are advertised in the USA for $195-00 without BB's.
