Yup that is "twee oues with one a dikke!!!!!" Those pics were taken by a Dutch guy travelling through Africa. His freehub broke near our camp in Mozambique and I had a spare that I fitted to his bike. He stayed over for three days and went on to eventually complete his trip in Cape Town. He is now in Lhasa, Tibet having travelled form Holland by bicycle. He now wrote a book called Verstand op nul, blik op oneindig Flip van Dyke These pics appear in the book. Would not know.... only know him as timbrink .... a fellow hubber who has some kind of job that keeps him very busy at Bicycling . That is even more why I am so impressed. Ja Shauntjie ou seun.... jy weet nie hoe moeilik dit vir ou mense, veral as een soos 'n mini Kobus Wiese soos hy nou lyk......om fietsfiks te raak nie. Veral as jy dit op jou eie moet doen in baie baie baie baie baie moeilike omstandigehede. Om jouself vir so iets te motiveer is immense. Onthou om brieke te olie op die pivot punte. Eerder gereeld as eenkeer en te veel olie. Ek gebruik sommer ligte olie (masjien oilie wat in die tuit botteltjie kom) en gebruik 'n dik spuitnaal waarvan die skerp kant afgevyl is. Suig olie op hierin en drup so paar druppletjies olie op die gedeeltes wat beweeg. PASOP VIR TE VEEL WANT OLIE OP DIE PADS IS DISASTROUS!!!!!!!! Maak seker jou briekkabels is nie droog nie en maak seker beide van daai langs springs wat ek netnou van gepraat het, het dieselfde drukkrak in hulle. As hulle uitgehak is soos ek netnou gese het sonder om die briekkabel uit te haak moet altwee ewe veel gebuig wees. So ongeveer 30 grade vanaf horisontaal. Ek is seker Stadige Faantjie sal maar te bereid wees om te help. Met fatty daar sal hy ook sommer iets leer.

Nellie Brieke behoort nie slegter te word nie. Hou die briekpads skoon en haal garras daaruit. Dit help om hulle liggies op baie growwe skuurpaier te "skrop" ...... onthou nie skuur nie !!!!!!! of gebruik een van daai fyn tandjie messe en krap die briek oppervlakte daarmee. Dit maak grof en haal ook sommer die fyn stukkies yster en goed uit wat die rim kan krap. Onthou jy hoef gewoonlik nie die pads uit te haal nie. Clip net die lang springs op die arms los, die briekkabel los en die arms beweeg uit wat jou genoeg spasie gee om daar te werk. ONTHOU NET OM HULLE TERUG TE CLIP WANT JY KAN NIE BRIEK SONDER HULLE NIE!!!!!!!! Maak ook die briekoppervlakte op die rim skoon. Mavic maak 'n uitveer wat baie duur is maar jy kan sommer 'n Scotchbrite pad gebruik om die oppervlakte skoon te maak as dit baie vuil is. Weereens moet nie skuur nie!!!!!!!. Vryf net liggies en probeer om die Gunk weg te kry en nie die aluminium te skuur nie. As jy die briek oppervlaktes gereeld skoonmaak sal die skuurdery hierbo nie nodig wees nie. Kyk ook na briekblokkies. Ek het BBB se Vee Stop triple colour pads op albei ons tandems gebruik. Gebruik die cartridge tipe. Dit werk goed. The Strike starts today at 15hoo as far as all rumours and expectations go. I normally have batteries replaced at IHF/POLAR in Midrand. POLAR does not have a service centre in Lagos so I had to do the battery change myself. The battery of the Speed Sensor on the Tandem seemed to be weakening because some data got lost. I replaced it with a new one. Previously I had moisture damage due to incorrect closing of the sensor. This time around I took some precautions. I cut a piece of black insulation tape and taped the joint to help with waterproofing. I made sure the tape is long enough for two windings of the 5mm wide piece of tape. I also took two small pieces of poster putty and pushed it into the screw holes. In a nick I think this will help. This will definitely void your guarantee but is the way to go if you sit in the middle of nowhere. Lagos can be classified as nowhere I suppose.
