  1. Shall we nail them!!!!!!! They are NOT playing the game it seems!!!!!!!!!
  2. KonaFan, Muldersdrift in Mpumalanga? It is just below the Hillsnacks route in Krugersdorp. Mpumalanga is in the eastern part of the R of SA?
  3. Velo, when I was still into the reloading of ammonition and the art of ballistics, I was a verrrry amatuer gunsmith. I bought the lathe with quite a few accessories secondhand from a Gunsmith who went bankrupt. I made uite a few revolver and pistol frontsights as well as small odds and ends including modified Mauser triggers. Anybody can master the art of playing with metal. By following simple rules you can make anything. The size normally depends on the size of your tools but that is not the limiting factor. Everything I did above can be done with handtools. Konafan you will be amazed to know how much can be done with a pair of pliers and a Vrystaat ring clamp!!!!!!!!
  4. In starting their first planning meeting so early I sincerely hope that the PR and advertising for this race will be scheduled correctly to ensure that the race shows growth. Nil growth can be construed as negative growth. I also hope they sort the issues regarding proffessional teams race out early enough this year and make a definitive statement regarding this. The inclusion of high end professional teams gives credibilty to any race.
  5. Ja nee.....the end of it will be that they ban all cyclists from an area that is condusive to recreational cycling due to some anorexic testosterone ridden group of yuppie brats on their R30k bicycles. I wonder what that baggy pants MTB rider did to encourage that lock forward to use his wheel as a trampoline.Hendrik Petoors2007-06-17 08:19:31
  6. Become a frequent reader of postings. I will not say anything just to please you. Enough has been said in photospread after photospread of smiling sheep...... oops I mean cyclists. Not enough has been acknowledged about the management, and by that I do not mean on race day.Hendrik Petoors2007-06-17 06:48:48
  7. Dit is dalk beter dat jy anoniem bly want dan hoef nie een van ons, onsself te skaam as ons jou in die openbaar ontmoet nie. Waarvan het jy die rash op jou BORSTE gekry???????

  11. Ja Jake White must now choose some sjarqies to play for the Bokke. Somebody like Butch James really deserves a chance after his successful Super 14 campaign. The Boks showed real character in the way they fought back. They made too many mistakes though.
  12. That is NOT Shrek, that is Fantomas, the most brilliant French criminal ever. He could chage his face in seconds, he had a Citroen that could fly, he was the original Dr EVIL!!!!!! And the Inspector never caught him. If I could only trace Fantomas, posing as SL-C of all places in AFRIKA it would make world headlines. Next thing you know he will get a doctorate like Aristride at UNISA!!!!!!!!!
  13. Monsieur Fantomas, bien que j'aie ?t? mort maintenant pendant vingt deux ann?es, vous continuez ? me hanter. Je vous obtiendrai, je jure que je . De Monsieur Louis de Funes
  14. I get very frustrated when I want something done on a bike and nobody knows what I want or it does not exist. Some examples of what I have made:- This is a brake attenuator that works on the same principle as the little pulley you see on Tandems. Both cables attach at different levels to a little lever that swivels on a pivot. It worked very well exept that you have to cut your brake cable. The forces generated are high and not only do you brake better but it gives you great feel end you can set the brake pad bigger. I have now discarded this and use the normal pulley type. Our road Tandem - el rapido, is a MTB framed tandem sucessfully changed to a road tandem. It originally had a old type Mafak Centrepull brake. When I won a set of XT Mtb brakes in a Cyclelab competition I decided I wanted them mounted on the rear as well. The rear of the bike has V Brake mounting bosses for a MTB wheel. I manufatured an inverted U from a solid peice of aluminium, that connects to the old centre hole where the brake mounts and on the old MTB V Brake bosses and made new brake boss mountings for the 700c wheel rim. I also made a new dropout for el rapido that I machined from a solid billet of aluminium. It works perfectly but was quite a task as I used a Emco Unimat 4 with a milling attachment. I also amde a pulley to operate a bottom pull Shimano 105 front derraileur. The bike is set up for a top pul as in MTB. It works perfectly and was made with a small piece of aluminium and a nylon pulley scrounged form a old photostat machine. Old photostat machines are a wondefull scource for small screws and washers. I used one for a derraileu screw that got lost.
  15. This something different. An imprvement on the Cannondale Lefty? SUB is short for Stability Under Braking, and that?s the idea behind this suspension design from British manufacturers USE. Dive is an annoyance with bike suspension - you spend a lot of effort (and money!) to get front suspension that?s smooth and good at absorbing shocks, then half your travel vanishes as soon as you pull the brakes - and the steering geometry alters as well. Wouldn?t it be good if the front suspension stayed put when you pulled the brakes, giving you full travel all the time? That?s what the angled linkage of the SUB fork ensures - the linkage points right at your Centre-of-Gravity, so your body weight won?t compress the suspension. Riding a SUB fork feels a bit odd at first, because we?re so used to suspension that dives. But soon the extra traction and comfort you get will have you convinced. A second advantage of the linkage is that it keeps everything aligned - so much so that the SUB fork doesn?t need to have support on both sides of the hub - it?s not even a fork ;-) This saves weight, is stronger (one fat tube is stronger than two thinner ones) and is simpler to service. Plus, you can change a tube without removing the wheel. The SUB fork is very easy to service - various spring rates are available, and a simple grease port makes lubing the fork very easy. The SUB fork is available for 26? wheels in two travel versions - 80mm or 100mm - or with 90mm travel for 29? wheels. Buy the fork on it?s own, or with the matching single-sided SUB Hub - a cartridge-bearing hub designed to be a perfect fit for the SUB fork. The pictures can be seen here.... worth while:- http://www.kinetics-online.co.uk/html/use_sub_fork.shtml
  16. Yup but most "first" pics of new bikes a white this new season, that indicates the flavour of the month and most of the yuppies are busy checking their credit cards balances right now for a white ne something.
  17. It is an very nice design. My gripe is that it is another WHITE frame. Is there so little development R&D in cycling that they now have to resort to Fad colours with every years new models!? What will everybody with their red Crvelo's do this year now that the whole peleton in white? Oops, I did not mean that in a derogatory way and it may not sound politically right!
  18. You are dead right Christie, maybe he is on manual and should change to automatic, Trevor Manuel may be due for an ovehaul.
  19. Muxman and Nomad, waiting for your pictures????
  20. Wanneer was jy by Bonneville?
  21. Micheal you beat me with 5 years. But what diffs does a few grey ones do?????
  22. Our first ARGUS was the 25 running of the event. We still want to do the 50th ARGUS. I will be 73 then. Having a longtime goal like that prompts one to continue staying fit and cycling is such a fun way to do it.
  23. Got email from Popeye just now. He does not want to come back. In my opinion the single greatest loss this whole palace revolution debacle had. I will continue to keep on convincing him to come back.
  24. KonaFan my email is now displayed on my profile. Mail me and I will gladly put you on my list. Cannot promise about the 914 scams though. Depends how short I am on money!!!!!!! I intend working on one this weekend.
  25. I had email to Bla Bla a week or so ago on his birthday and I regularly send him my Nigerian Newsletter I send to all on my mailing list. He is well and all is going well. Ja en nou is ek as gevolg van my eie stoepitgeid weer 'n ROOKIE van alle dinge. Ja and to think when the SS website melted down we thought is was the end of the world. Here we sit a T+24 hours and all is still well and functioning. We surely grew up since then. Who can still remember how we rallied together when Spinnekop was in the throes of deepest despair when he did not have a Racing Bike.... only the old MTB and then a new opening came for him on a team. Ag ja those were the days. Ek se weer die Hubbers HET grootgeword.
