Nope..... the stoker always sits and wave at people, chat to other cyclists, does her nails, look at nature flitting by and comment on bad gear changes. I never complain because the cardinal rule when tandemming is that .......THE STOKER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!!!!!!

Q20 is not a lubricant. It is a cleaner. Washing your chain with parraffin only WILL be detremental to proper lubrication. The "fatty" residue that stays behind when the solvents evaporate will dillute and change the viscosity of your lubricant. If and when you use parraffin or any petroleum based solvent you must wash the chain first with a grease cutting soap. Sunshine Liquid Dish washer does this quite well. Parraffin removes the wax buildup created by White lightning. With Squirt I only use Sunlight Liquid to wash the chain. The prolonged contact with petroleum products can have a carsogenic effect.

I have made three of these stands so far and they work. To secure the bike even better strap it with a friction luggage strap to the square tubing. It is seldom neccesary. I have done major repairs on both our tandems using designs like this. I do not take responsibility for this design.

ewep, ek het redelik baie terugvoer vanaf Steven gekry met verskeie pogings om hulle fout te motiveer. My oorspronklike vraag was gewees of die Service Stand die tandem sal hanteer. Hy het laat weet dat die stand 'n massa van 38kg kan hanteer. Mooi so!!!!!!!!....... dit is ongeveer wat die Tandem met M op weeg!!!!!! Hy het wel nog nie my vraag beantwoord nie. Die tandem is lank en ek wil spesifiek weet of die klein tripod basis die momente wat deur die LENGTE van die tandem veroorsaak word sal hanteer. Ek glo ek is geregtig op so antwoord want die stand Kos 3200-00. Hel ...... dit is die prys van 'n nuwe redelike goeie fiets!!!!!!! Dan ook het hy aan sy kollega wat my aanvanklik nie ordentelik wou help nie omdat hy "onder druk is" laat weet hy moet die prys aan my verskaf aangesien ek "'n negatiewe posting geplaas het op die Hub wat hulle in 'n slegte lig stel" My vorige probleem wat ek met die "despote" gehad het was dat ek van die skroefies gesoek het wat die onderste cover van die Shimano Rapidfire shifters vashou. Hulle antwoord was dat hulle dit nie aanhou nie maar dat ek maar 'n nuwe shifter moet koop. Ek het vir lank die cover met insulation tape vasgehou en aan almal wat vra en nie vra nie gese dat dit is so omdat die verskaffer nie onderdele wou verskaf het nie. Dit is uiters swak van hulle gewees. My vriend by Bouwer Broers het toe uiteindelik vir my skroefies uit sy toolboks gehaal en die goed is nou weer reg. Ek gaan nou maar weer die trusted HENDRIK DESIGNED SERVICE AND REPAIR STAND hier in Nigerie bou van sqwaire toobing en ankle airon wat ekke aamekaar plak met welding wat soos voolkie strint lyk en nie hulle verspotte duur stand koop nie. Damn........... ek wens kempekkernoglia wil nou hulle MTB groupset herontwerp of dat Brandon hulle by Probike ook Shimano onderdele wil verkoop. DAN KAN ONS DALK GOEIE DIENS KRY!!!!!!!!

We used to break chains on our tandem due to variuos factors. We had a kempekkernoglia groupset on that was just not capable of handling the stresses and strains of tandem riding. This was also aggravated by the fact that our gearchanges was not well coordinated. One or both of us did not power down during changes. When I changed to a Tiagra groupset the whole issue improved. I still broke chains but this changed totally when we installed a long cage XT derraileur on the back and a 105 dearraileur on the front. Since them we have also become a more competent tandem team. The whole minsdset also changed when Martin told me to take it more casual and relax, and also plan ahead when to make our gearchange. Rather shift on the downhills and spin untill we need the power instead of trying to shift whilst going up a hill and under power. Correct setting of the derraileurs and and control cables and a clean and lubricated chain is also a must. Since we changed from White Lightning (a hard wax based lubricant) to Squirt things are 100% better. Squirt given a more relaxed and loose well lubricated chain, especially during cold conditions. Correct fixing of the chain is also a must and I will recommed an SRAM link to break the chain if you clean often. They work well with Shimano chains. I do not break the chain anymore bit wash the chain with a BBB clamshell type chain washer. I wash the chain regularly using common Sunlight Liquid in the washer. On the MTB tandem we used one chain ..... it never broke and I retired it after 3500km on the tandem...... quite exceptional for an Tandem working under wet and grimy conditions. We were in Mozambique during that time.

I must be one of the staunchest Shimano supporters on the Hub as well as in South Africa. All I ask when making an enquiry is that the reply should encompass my interest. Wow the same thing has happened............ again!!!!!!! I booked a Tazz for our stay in RSA from the 17th of August. I did that through Vitality on the Internet and all went well and the booking confirmed. M and I want to visit Kruger for a few days and specificlly go camping because we prefer that. I sent a mail to Imperial Car Hire who are Kulula Cars asking if they have smaller vehicles with Towbars. The quote for the Tazz was just over R6000-00 for the month. They sent me a quote for a Mercedes Vito for R26900-00 for the full month stating that smaller cars do not have towbars. I cannot believe the stupidity behind such a decsision. Would a simple email saying that "small cars do not have towbars/are not available" have sufficed. WHAT IN HADES WOULD M AND I WANT TO DO WITH A MERCEDES VITO FOR A FULL MONTH!!!!!!!!!
