Day 1: SAND SAND and some more SAND! Day 2: SAND, a nasty 3+ km Klimb that only 2 guys could ride out last year. Day 3: Same as day 1! Think they changed the route from last year it only seems like day 2 is the same so i doubt you will get more than what is on the website!

Defiantly the hardest one day race in SA! This route was way harder than the original Jock route! Enjoyed the new route tough. Well done to the organisers!

Does anyone know when seeding will be out?

Yes i did Karma. As i'm more a racer the Scott works for me. Not that the stumpy will not work. In my min i decided on the Scott but i'm only seeing the bikes on Monday then ill make my final decision.

It seems the sh It looks like the shop where the scott was originally bought will still honer the 5 year warranty on the frame etc. I think the scott will be the bike! Thanks for all your help.

Ok Got the final quote for the stumpy. But it is with slx shifters. Im beginning to lean towards the scott for 2 reasons: 1) American CLassics wheels! Had them on my 26er and loved them. 2) For R1700 more i get a carbon bike..

Ok I need some advice. Broke the 26er and now i can get a 29er. Narrowed it down to 2. Option 1 2013 Stumpjumper Comp XT:FD,RD, SLX Shifters Sram BB30 Crank Magura MTs Brakes Rockshock Reba. Wheels is standard Roval. New +- R18300 Option 2 2012 Scott Scale Expert Carbon Xt/Slx mix Rockshock Reba American Classics Wheels Used for around 400km R20000 So i know the one is alu an the other one carbon, no brainer, but budget is tight and one is new other used. R2000 more.. Don't know. What do you think?

Looks like 'n nice event. I have heard that the want to get 6000-8000 riders to make the event happen. Do you think that there is going to so many people entering?

If you are lucky maybe you will get R2000-R3000.. Secondhand bikes does not have value.

The 120km is loooong. Not that much climbing but a few false flats. Wind is also a factor in the last 30. Allround its ok. Not a lot of people do it think last year there were like 300 that rode the 120.

Anyone doing this?

Saw a guy go down last 5km in the C bunch.. Looked serious!

Was 'n gr8 day out! Very well organized! Was riding very nicely with the front A bunch when I got nailed at 88k's. Did a super fast tire change and got caught by Audible Anarchy's group at 3k's to go, managed a 2:33. Will be there next year!

It happened on the Swartkops/lanseria road. He was lying next to the road, when we came past, bike looked like a pile of junk. Hope het recovers fast.

Sort of the same route. You are right hill snacks is in the beginning, but you go down Sterkfontein into the n14 instead of the Game reserve. But from there on it is the same!
