  1. Uhg, in real life I find people talk too much nonsins. I'm much more of a listener, so /care about the tread count idea. That said, I HATE it when thehub gets all quiet. I rather enjoy reading the nonsins the regulars put on here ;-) Never tried selling anything, bought a couple of things though.
  2. Just go Spam "The most awesome thread ever" in a bunch of threads on like the mybroadband forum

  7. Semi thread hijack: I seriously don't get the flat pedal thing on downhillers, I'd just fly off the bike the whole time if i can't clip in Someone care to explain a bit please? On a side note to the original post, once you get the basics like setup right, the most important thing is experience. When your at speed and in the heat of it, you don't rely so much on "intentional decisions" but more on reflexes and muscle memory. Not so? So you have to train your body and mind so to say, simply by practicing. I read somewhere once that even after training, when you sleep, your body continues to grow those brain nerves (muscle memory). So just keep at it. If you like the sport enough you'll persist and eventually improve.

  9. Could you give me a link to an article about this please?
  10. 400 layers? Just out of curiosity, how does that work? You take a sheet and hammer it flat, fold it, hammer it, fold it, hammer it, and so on right (heating it in between ofcourse). So if you start with the first sheet(1'layer") and keep folding it, the layers add up like this: 1:2:4:8:16:32:64:128:256:512 isn't that right? EDIT: ooh and "howmuch" do they cost? :-)
  11. Thats no joke, I've been chased by an ostrich twice now at groenkloof... Mother$%#$ing hormonal monsters those things.

  14. Wow, looks like that rohloff hub would weigh a ton? O.o Well, as you can notice the bike in question is onroad, so meh to all the dirt and grass issues. I would however first want the price in Rand =P

  16. So concerning surfing those waves, and the issue of bravery vs stupidity, is it at all possible to ride something like that out? And not get pulled into the wave? Because it seems like all they manage to do is stay at the bottom for a while, instead of getting some sideways speed to stay out of the thunder that is a couple of tons of crushing angry water... And, seeing as how all the guys in that video top over at some point, what are your odds when going into all that...crush? I assume you can't get out for a while, but what's the rest of the story? My balls are doing some serious self evaluation at the moment :-/
  17. So, I've noticed the Maxxis crossmark on my rear wheel is making a bubble, looks like it's only a thin layer of rubber lifting up. It's filled with stan's so it looks like the inner layer has sealed itself for now. Anyone had this before? Any Maxxis reps here willing to give me a new tyre? =P

  23. I know, "this is getting boring", but I noticed that the minion DHF(ront) is currently the most popular tyre on chain reaction cycles website...{cough!...} and it gets 4.29/5 on MTBR! I would not recommend it for riding on the tar though maybe look at the monorail then? 4.5/5 on MTBR is not a bad score hay...
