  1. March 1994: PSG 1-1 Arsenal April 1994: Arsenal 1-0 PSG Sep 2016: PSG 1-1 Arsenal Nov 2016: Arsenal 2-2 PSG July 2018: Arsenal 5-1 PSG Oct 2024 Arsenal 2-0 PSG No head-to-head wins by PSG yet, three by Arsenal. PSG looking really good though, with Luis Enrique saying that they're better without Mbappe. Will be a fascinating matchup, if that happens.
  2. Perhaps the way they dominated and thrashed RM was a once in a lifetime event. I can't let go of the fact that Arsenal have also beaten RM in Madrid, beaten Barcelona in Barcelona, and beaten Bayern Munich in Munich. Also, Arsenal remain the only opponent that RM haven't ever scored a goal against. Quite an achievement despite lots of crappy seasons (edit: ...and some lilly-livered rollover squads).
  3. Life is so much more beautiful when there is no PGMOL around.
  4. It seems almost impossible but Arsenal haven't yet lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League. I well recall the joy that night Arsenal beat them in Madrid. RM haven't yet scored a goal against Arsenal in the CL. I didn't know until I checked a moment ago. Who would have thought? Might be because Arsenal haven't spent nearly as much time in the CL in recent years as some others. 😂 Could well be a shitshow next week, Arsenal have had that in them. Still, RM haven't yet scored a goal against them. Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham and Vini Jr's se moer.
  5. I've just seen a detailed ride-through of this Araxá course. I'd love to ride it, it's both seriously challenging and loads of fun. Women Elite starting now, this will be exciting.
  6. How was Harrison fouled after this? How is it possible that Miles Lewis-Skelly conceded a penalty immediately after this point? EPL VAR is a bust, and Darren England is unrepairable.
  7. Nothing less than spectacular.
  8. Remember Moanrinho's gutter level cowardly move in poking an opponent's eye from behind? The nutter has busted out another gutter move this week.
  9. Like at those midnight movies in cinemas in CBD alleyway sidestreets from the age of 15. Sometimes a mate was unable to sneak out and I'd hitchhike from the 'burbs alone. One had to finesse away from those old guy freaks and other threats to enjoy the secondary joint smoke buzz during the The Who and Led Zep and Stones and Rocky Horror and giallo movies and Mel Brooks' brilliantly funny Young Frankenstein midnight shows. Then to hitchhike home at 2 in the morning. How did we survive all that? Edit: How could I forget that other cult midnight movie with the best ever title, Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
  10. I twice paid to watch that in a cinema, first with a few mates and a week later chose to watch it alone enhanced with THC.
  11. Texas just passed a law that prohibits men from wearing makeup. "Texas, brah... Whyyyyy?"
  12. A Liverpool supporter back for more banter, must be a masochist... Does feel like ages, though. Many years after giving up on watching local SA footie live, feels a bit weird that I've enjoyed seeing some PSL and Nedbank Cup matches and the second tier matches of Highbury FC while working at them. Even Highbury's midweek 2pm kickoffs have several thousand spectators. I'm still struck by the lack of height in players here, even in the top tier. I'm not especially tall at 6'3" but none of the players have matched my height thus far, with most being a lot shorter. I'm still waiting to see the first headed goal attempt after a few second tier games. Bring on the EPL.
  13. Hah! Yes, thank you! My post was more about how ridiculous number 47's plastered-on thick cosmetics application appeared, with him even plastering makeup around one eye and not the other. Your link wrt Zuma is much appreciated. Interestingly, top ANC leaders at the time were warned about his repeated thieving and forceful ways with women from his earliest days in exile in his 20's. He told new arrivees from SA that their SA cash wouldn't work, but that he'd do them the favour of exchanging it for local currency. Takes little imagination to realise how that went. The guy is so bent that if he swallowed a nail he'd expel a corkscrew. I was dismayed when he turned up at an ex in-laws' family celebration. After all, they're educated, successful professionals with unflinching integrity, properly good mense. And they well know how I regard that Mensa no-hoper and his family, who all seem to be the offspring of encounters between a hyena and a poisonous toad. I avoided talking with him or shaking his hand, I'd never embarrass the in-laws. The utterances of an idiot: PS. I hope it's clear that there's zero political motivation behind my comments, just observations about seriously flaky individuals.
  14. This loser bloviating shitgibbon is no more than a proverbial stain on a discarded third-hand jockstrap in my opinion. I'm only sorry anyone lost cash and a promising adventure and that it took quite as long to effect an arrest. If Taun Bewsher and Zuma were drowning, and you could only save one of them, what kind of sandwich would you make? Satirically speaking.
  15. Much respect to Marco and Tristan for consistently being at the sharpest end. More so for fighting through the aero drag of that '70's porn star 'tache.
  16. Someone needs to have a kind word with this gent. Look at how ridiculous this is. I'm not even going into the US stock market at one stage losing 1 000 points yesterday (ending with ($4 trillion value losses), or the GDP going from +3.9% to ï¹£2.8% in his short tenure, or the $4 trillion increased debt burden that he applied for and that congress approved. All that tarrifs talk against Canada and Mexico causing financial panic, and talk was all it was. None implemented. All of them walked back, twice. Some economists are calling it a looming Trumpcession. With no structural reason for plummeting stock values, the losses are being tied directly to his actions. So much for being the business guy. Look at all that makeup. He even made up the one eye and not the other. This is an unmanipulated photo. I've never seen something quite as ridiculous in any president, ever. Please will someone tell the poor guy?
  17. Thierry Henry rejected Salah as a Ballon d'Or top candidate, while also referring to Salah's 11 penalties. A delicious irony then, that the team awarded the most penalties in any of the European leagues this season, should last night lose a Round of 16 tie through penalties.
  18. £2Bn? How do they make that work? Would be interested to see if they can even fill that proposed 25 000 increased capacity.
  19. 1 - 4 in a penalty shootout. You'd think Livarpool could do penalties after being gifted so many in the premier league. Salah learning tonight that diving has fewer rewards with UEFA referees, they're not as easily persuaded as PGMOL are by the Anfield fans.
  20. A packed 46K Nelson Mandela Bay stadium for the Kaiser Chiefs vs Stellies FC Nedbank Cup quarterfinal yesterday. My first work assignment, since getting back up to clinical practice speed, after retiring at 50 ten years ago was to run the stadium med centre ops (not the on-field response). We saw at least a fifth of all spectators barging their way in from near the end of the first half through two gate-busting stampedes twenty minutes apart despite a large SAPS presence. Bust heads and faces, bust shoulders, bust limbs, dozens of cases of teargas exposure and respiratory difficulty, thankfully no deaths. That was nuts. How is this still happening?
  21. VAR takes a second to look at Nunez's potential red card. He scores. Then he gets the softest penalty you'll see all season and VAR didn't even bother to review it. Awarded a penalty every 1.3 matches. Oppo red card every 1.6 matches. uXG the highest in the league - unexpected goals 2.83. Very strong case for Livarpool's player of the season: PS. And I haven't even mentioned van Dijk getting away with 5 nailed-on red card offences.
  22. One shot on target, one goal. Worst performance under Slot, and still a win.
