  1. I see some startled looks and smiles at the international footie commentary when Czech Republic's Masopust is mentioned, more so when commentators get excited about Masopust's goals.
  2. Mostdef should have won manager of the month ahead of 10Hag IMO. 3 home wins and 2 away wins in November, whereas Man U lost 2 in November. In December: Beat Man City, beat Arsenal, streak of 15 home wins. Brilliant!
  3. I recall one of many full moon nights on the rocky Schoenmakerskop coast, I worked and stayed in and surfed that stretch in my early twenties, when one of those surfaced and chilled no more than a metre from me for perhaps half an hour. Just silently stayed in one another’s company. Seemed simultaneously normal and magical.
  4. Hoping that your helmet straps match those of your bibshorts/baggy inners. 😊 That would be next level. Just two helmets with the latest being a matte black Smith Session MIPS. Two reasons I like it, good coverage of the lower back of the head (as a long ago critical care para and lecturer I well remember seeing the consequences of injuries to that part of the head), and the LBS's owner accidentally sold it to me at 1k lower even after I repeated his price, twice.
  5. That Banshee Paradox of yours is the right size. Bonus: I’ll be in CT soon.
  6. FWIW, I still think Tottenham are on the turnaround with much more to come. As are Aston Villa with Emery’s significant tactical change of a higher line. Aston Villa are scarily good at pouncing on gaps now. This gooner might settle for a draw at Villa Park tomorrow.
  7. Not cool, and a new premier league record. 🎶 Always look on the briiiight side of life… 🎶
  8. Errrr… Hayi shem! The one guy who didn’t flee the anti-doping officials should also have fled. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/olympics/athletics/athletics-drugs-test-delhi-nada-b2459479.html
  9. I see ten Hag dropped three of those half-effort malingerers from the Newcastle match, Rashford and Martial and Varane, and went on to get a result. Good on him.
  10. Has anyone else considered that Man U seemed to lose focus as a club after the players hired exactly 100 hookers for a strictly-squad-only-and-no-phones end of season party in the hotel owned by Giggsy and the Nevilles? Against Sir Fergie’s adamant opposition, they went ahead. I think that managerial power (and results) started crumbling after that. These last four or five Man U managers have been rapidly disregarded and even disrespected by players.
  11. The Arsenal a few seasons ago were notorious for losing matches in the last 10 minutes. Top of the stats for match winning goals in the last 10 minutes in EPL matches in the last couple of seasons are Trossard (1 each at Brighton & Hove and Arsenal), Kalajdzic (2 at Wolves), Rodri (2 at Man City), Isak (Newcastle 2), Souček (West Ham 2), Rice (2 for Arsenal), and top man Havertz (2 at Arsenal and 1 for Chelsea).
  12. Good luck with that. I’m pretty sure that at least four Man U players putting in little more than half an effort and not tracking back last weekend has some effect on that. ten Hag was furious. Edit: as were my two mates supporting those losers. 😂 Also, his 2tonK (correction, I see it’s 4tonK) worth of signings have simply not delivered. Word from the training ground is reportedly that their team mates are unimpressed as well.
  13. "Please, sir, I want some more." "Mr Limbkins, I beg your pardon, sir! Oliver Twist has asked for more!"
  14. Mitchell Johnson: “It’s been five years and David Warner has still never really owned the ball-tampering scandal." “… his past three years have been ordinary, with a batting average closer to what a tailender would be happy with." "Now the way he is going out is underpinned by more of the same arrogance and disrespect." “And why a player at the centre of one of the biggest scandals… warrants a hero’s send-off?" https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/cricket/david-warner-mitchell-johnson-australia-pakistan-b2457912.html
  15. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/couple-desperate-baby-having-sex-31568857 I’ve read loads of funny k@k this year, including that, but this is some punny k@k.
  16. Excellent call. A blue-faced Orient Ray off Ebay, put a shark mesh band on it, quickly took precedence on my wrist over two Swiss pieces also with mechanical movements. It proved to have very good accuracy and seemed like a steal at the price. Simply luuurve the idea of the stealthy underdog offering great value. Not sure if it’s BF related but the current price is a bit lower than usual. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153242718525
  17. Ugh sorry bruh, one doesn’t expect that kinda duping. I wouldn’t donate that let alone charge anyone for it.

  19. 100%. I can't conceive wanting to wilfully killing someone. I struggled to inject and euthanise my sedated Great Dane after he had bitten someone for the second time. And that was after many years of dealing with the aftermath of injuries and violence as a profession, and sometimes in the midst of it.

  21. Ouch! Seller needs to include a complimentary tube of lube with that saddle.
  22. “Why did Gabriel, a big, strong 6ft 3in centre back, not put his head on a ball, a yard off his goal line when it was there at a perfect height for him? For one very obvious reason. Because he was pushed. It was as plain as the nose on your face and would have been pure common sense to anyone who’s actually played the game.” "I have to say I had sympathy with Mikel Arteta over his reaction to a flagrantly poor refereeing decision last weekend. I’ve been in his shoes.” "The conclusion that Anthony Gordon’s goal for Newcastle should stand was plainly wrong to anyone with an ounce of knowledge of the game. And of course, Arteta was having to come to terms with the fact that those officials were equipped with the most sophisticated video technology known to man.” "You have to ask yourself how hard it must have been for him when he walked into his press conference, given that he had half an hour to calm down — yet still went for the officials and their decision-making in a big way. I can well imagine how he felt. I would have been boiling.” "It’s all very well for people to say, ‘Arteta’s let his great club down because they have a reputation for class’ but I don’t see it like that. Yes, for me Arsenal have always been one of the classiest clubs. But I saw Arteta as a man whose frustrations were so enormous that he just couldn’t deal with it in the cold, calculated way that all the experts seem to think he should have done.” "The question the refereeing establishment need to be asking themselves is: ‘How do we improve?’ They can go and have their seminars and their get-togethers every day of the week, but they’re still going to continue to make the same mistakes unless they involve people who intuitively understand the game. The ones who’ve actually played it." – Graeme Souness At the least, Arteta’s action in calling on fellow league managers to “please let’s do something about it” has had a positive reaction. The League Managers Association has scheduled meetings with PGMOL to effect urgent change. I tried to see things from Mark Ogden’s, and some others’, point of view but I was unable to lodge my head that far up my own @rse. Arteta’s success in motivating action with his fellow managers to effect positive change for the good of all participants, now that’s true class.
  23. Nah my 140mm Bomber Z2 is easily serviced at RBC with Fox 34 bits, and it’s excellent for bombing down the valley trails near my home. Edit: Fox has owned Marzocchi for the last several years.
  24. I know that you’ve seen and liked this previously, it still brings back fond memories. I was later worried for the guy’s life and kept checking local news reports and with my former state service medical colleagues. I’m not even kidding when I say that my shoulder somehow felt a pleasurable glowing warmth for the following week. 🙈😂
  25. Not just about doping but he does comment about doping and some of the current best GC riders. Some interesting Team Sky, and more current, insights and very much looks like an all around fascinating read. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2023/oct/10/alex-dowsett-professional-cycling-is-fragile-billionaires-come-in-invest-and-get-blown-away
