  1. Wolves appointed Vitor Pereira in the same week that Man United appointed Ruben Amorim. Wolves were 18 points behind that team, today they are level.
  2. Big Sam has signed a deal to be interim pope until the end of the season.
  3. A quick acknowledgement and thank you for your continual generosity regarding insights and bits of kit and even components. The new bib that you kindly passed my way has been great on a tight rotation schedule (and budget), lasting several thousands of k's thus far and is very much appreciated. Thank you.
  4. 4 non-league sides doing same day finals at Wembley, and with excellent support. Sounds brilliant, loads of fun.
  5. Arsenal kicked Real Madrid butt, twice. FIVE - ONE. Bonus: Harry Kane in tears after losing somewhere else.
  6. If going to space for a minute makes you an astronaut then I'm a gynaecologist...
  7. Beeeg night at Villa Park, and one expects the Villans to be up for it. Can hardly wait.
  8. I bought a POC frame and two lenses on eBay from a midwest USA retailer, and it arrived at the suburban post office within 3 days. Although I live 2 blocks from the local post office, the SAPO took 5 days to inform me it had arrived. FWIW SAPO hasn't yet lost any of about 15 online purchases delivered through them. I don't take a chance with pricier components.
  9. "It's a great waistline. The highest waistline in the country, some say it's the highest in the whole world." When your belt flirts with your short shirt sleeve.
  10. March 1994: PSG 1-1 Arsenal April 1994: Arsenal 1-0 PSG Sep 2016: PSG 1-1 Arsenal Nov 2016: Arsenal 2-2 PSG July 2018: Arsenal 5-1 PSG Oct 2024 Arsenal 2-0 PSG No head-to-head wins by PSG yet, three by Arsenal. PSG looking really good though, with Luis Enrique saying that they're better without Mbappe. Will be a fascinating matchup, if that happens.
  11. Perhaps the way they dominated and thrashed RM was a once in a lifetime event. I can't let go of the fact that Arsenal have also beaten RM in Madrid, beaten Barcelona in Barcelona, and beaten Bayern Munich in Munich. Also, Arsenal remain the only opponent that RM haven't ever scored a goal against. Quite an achievement despite lots of crappy seasons (edit: ...and some lilly-livered rollover squads).
  12. Life is so much more beautiful when there is no PGMOL around.
  13. It seems almost impossible but Arsenal haven't yet lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League. I well recall the joy that night Arsenal beat them in Madrid. RM haven't yet scored a goal against Arsenal in the CL. I didn't know until I checked a moment ago. Who would have thought? Might be because Arsenal haven't spent nearly as much time in the CL in recent years as some others. 😂 Could well be a shitshow next week, Arsenal have had that in them. Still, RM haven't yet scored a goal against them. Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham and Vini Jr's se moer.
  14. I've just seen a detailed ride-through of this Araxá course. I'd love to ride it, it's both seriously challenging and loads of fun. Women Elite starting now, this will be exciting.
  15. How was Harrison fouled after this? How is it possible that Miles Lewis-Skelly conceded a penalty immediately after this point? EPL VAR is a bust, and Darren England is unrepairable.
  16. Nothing less than spectacular.
  17. Remember Moanrinho's gutter level cowardly move in poking an opponent's eye from behind? The nutter has busted out another gutter move this week.
  18. Like at those midnight movies in cinemas in CBD alleyway sidestreets from the age of 15. Sometimes a mate was unable to sneak out and I'd hitchhike from the 'burbs alone. One had to finesse away from those old guy freaks and other threats to enjoy the secondary joint smoke buzz during the The Who and Led Zep and Stones and Rocky Horror and giallo movies and Mel Brooks' brilliantly funny Young Frankenstein midnight shows. Then to hitchhike home at 2 in the morning. How did we survive all that? Edit: How could I forget that other cult midnight movie with the best ever title, Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
  19. I twice paid to watch that in a cinema, first with a few mates and a week later chose to watch it alone enhanced with THC.
  20. Texas just passed a law that prohibits men from wearing makeup. "Texas, brah... Whyyyyy?"
  21. A Liverpool supporter back for more banter, must be a masochist... Does feel like ages, though. Many years after giving up on watching local SA footie live, feels a bit weird that I've enjoyed seeing some PSL and Nedbank Cup matches and the second tier matches of Highbury FC while working at them. Even Highbury's midweek 2pm kickoffs have several thousand spectators. I'm still struck by the lack of height in players here, even in the top tier. I'm not especially tall at 6'3" but none of the players have matched my height thus far, with most being a lot shorter. I'm still waiting to see the first headed goal attempt after a few second tier games. Bring on the EPL.
