  1. condoms!
  2. Quick reply: you could fall on your head and receive an injury. But hey, every **** can ride without Helmut if he or she likes. Just don't tell others it's safe or nothing could happen, which is wrong. I personally experienced the worst injuries when crashing on slow, casual rides.
  3. No helmets, no seatbelts, no condoms ... Some people live on the wild side!
  4. Ja, we have the Dakota at our work - it's good if you hold it in your hand, but that's it. Personally I am using the Edge 705 and am very happy with it. I jsut bought it and consciously opted not to get the 800 because I a) don't like touch screens and B) thin that touch screens are difficult to handle when wearing gloves and perhaps some mud being involved. Further I sweat like a pig and feared that my dripping sweat might confuse the computer cause it thinks it's a touch...
  5. I'll meet you at the Engen at 18h30. I'll be the sweaty guy that has already done an hour before. Black bike, white fork and saddle. You have my number. Cheers
  6. So Tankman, just the two of us, hey?
  7. Well, starting a tad earlier only defeats the purpose if all you wanna do is a night ride. Adding an hour before would have been some extra km's for the legs and a good warm up
  8. geez, you also live in Pradykloof, work in Techno Park and keen to ride on Thursday!? Remarkable coincidence! Let's chat about that tomorrow eve then.
  9. I'm keen. Also working in Techno Park, living in Paradyskloof. But why don't we start a bit earlier 5-5:30?
  10. I sadly had to abandon the long route after tech problems at about 33 km, however until then I really enjoyed the route. Certainly much better than the Argus MTB. Only, as mentioned above, the organizers should realize that they have to offer at least some organization for that entry fee. If they just want to attract mroe people to be at the finish when the epic guys come but give those guys something to do before, then make the entries 50 bucks. No one would complain about the oragnization then. Very nice venue.
  11. Thanx for all the posts here. I'm particularly happy about these two hubber getting comfy with one another. So many directions a thread could go. Interesting properties for development are obviously always a major point in project development. SA has seen a large number of "developers" trying to get contracts signed sind about 3-4 yrs. Some of them are good, other just highly unprofessional and promising the world just to get a contract signed. More than often these contracts are not even a document that could withstand a legal test and consequently worthless. So one must be alert there. Dirt*girl and capricorn, you two abeen for a ride (bike ride) together?
  12. Thanx for your replies and all the PM's as well. We have thoroughly researched the market in SA and based on that came to our conclusion that it is a good time now. We have extensive experience with that world wide. Also we aren't the only international project developers active on the SA market.
  13. # Received and replied. Thanx
  14. Any forwarding is appreciated, the ERC is also still on my list to contact. Thank you. We'll only be on the market with our company name next month (October), I'll certainly give you a shout then. We develop renewable energy projects (wind power for example) in the mega watt class and will be selling the produced electricity through the REFIT (renewable energy fedd-in tariff). Usually wind parks are bought by inverstors that are looking for a constant and reliable return on ther invest. In average a wind park operates for around 20 yrs. Keep on bumping! So you are in the energy efficiency sector? What sort? Housing?
  15. Good morning! Just a bump to enlighten your day with a new perspective in the professional world! Cheers, Rob
  16. Hi all! My company has two vacansies they want to fill still this year. We are looking to hire two project managers to the development of our wind energy projects in South Africa. Ideally, you should be a graduate of technical or natural sciences (e.g. electrical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, regional planning), business administration or have been able to generate equivalent experiences. You are experienced in project development within the renewable energy sector or in other industries facing similar challenges such as infrastructure and construction and are be able to demonstrate successful relationship building ability across a broad range of levels from land owners, to political stakeholders and senior executives. Obviously a good understanding of the South African electricity market would be helpful. If intersted please PM me and I can provide you with more details. Thanx. Cheers, Rob
