How else do you get people over the same finishing line... There's 3km of public roads to the end... we take over the poor town as it is, we can't use 4 different roads to the finish I'm really pushing hard to have the trailseekers over two days for 2015...

Last years half was completely different to this year, and took the guys in the Cullinan reserve, this year we go in the opposite direction.

Rooiberg will be moved to 08th Aug 2015

Routes have to merge before the finish. The routes merge about 4.4km before the finish with 1km of gravel road before the road crossing.

So I've just returned from the weekend doing the final recce with Gavin Pelser our new route guy. (who brought you the 2014 Clarens route) All I can say is if you've ever done the Diamond Rush event in the past all the best bits are now put in to one race. It's real mountain biking bring your skills along. Couple of new sections that has never been in the race before. Half & Marathon distances are in the bavaria protected area along the malan river. Unfortunately... and fortunately for you.. the major climb of 2010 in the MTN Cullinan route will not be in this years event... I tried very hard things just didn't go to plan... so you are saved... for now. The Marathon will hit the Little eden gorge at around the 22km mark, about 5km further than in the past with more climbs before then to spread out the field. The half will be similar to 2011 with a different start out and two new climbs. Chat again soon. Profiles to be done and uploaded later this week.

Hey Guys, I've just returned from rooiberg and cullinan. I'll upload the route profiles for Rooiberg later today. Very minor changes over last year just focussing on a better rider experience regarding starts, batches, mergers before finish grooming existing trails and water points. We're bringing in a roller to compact lots of the "pebble" climb sections. We'll have a small teaser from the weekend on facebook during the week. Cheers!

Currently the ultra is at 105km. Cut-off at 14h00 (53km into Marathon, 83.6km into Ultra) 105km has a cut-off at the finish of 9hours Will give a update over the weekend, to confirm as there will be a change over last year.

ps... first batch of seeding mails out for the marathon. We are running the batches small and well spaced. So please don't fret if you are not in your usual batch as they are 80 in a batch and not 150ish like usual.

I'll seriously suggest that you take it easy... many areas are tricky and very steep! Take the camera and enjoy the views
