  3. Hey Guys, I need to draw the maps for van gaalen and then go out with Erik to ride the new parts... he's not very tech savy so I need to draw the routes for him. I'll draw preliminary ones as I understand them to be and post them in due time.

  5. Event Name: Mabalingwe LionMan When: 19 July 2014 Where: Mabalingwe, Limpopo Category: MTB It’s back, and it’s going to be better than ever! The 13th edition of the Mabalingwe LionMan is on 19 July 2014. Only an hour and a half from Pretoria is the new featured event for 2014, LionMan. The race has a great history and has grown to one of the most prominent and popular mountain bike races in South Africa, after some negotiations the event is back in full swing! The "LionMan" MTB race has become a "must-do-event" for all seasoned cyclists but also for families and newcomers to the sport. This year the Lion Man will undergo some exciting changes on route, we have carefully read and listened to feedback from the previous year’s races and believe we have come up with the best route possible for everyone, show casing the best Mabalingwe has to offer in mountain biking!   6. Hi Wian, None of our National events currently have a cap in place. We always accept line / late entries for them. We also won't charge a late fee t Rooiberg.

  14. Busy with the event booklet as we speak. Went to cullinan the past weekend to get updates from Gavin out Route Director. As soon as the booklet is finished the profiles will be too and I'll share.
  15. Hey Guys, I met with Erik from van Gaalens on Friday. Marathon & Half Routes will be 80% similar to Trailseeker Van Gaalens 2013. Got some distance changes obviously to meet with the demand of the National level race status... eg. 40->45km 70-75km etc. Because the race is over two days you'll have nice small batches spread out, and large batch gaps. I'll draft the provisional routes tomorrow for you. The Ultra will have some additional sick.. and I mean sick climbing... #spoiler alert............ We had a National downhill in the magalies a couple years ago, we are going up here, with some switchbacks and fast technical downhills.
  16. Hey Guys, Herewith the details for Rooiberg for the cut-offs: Note this route is not a marathon + half marathon loop. You will also be removed from category prizes in the marathon. 07:15 - ULTRA START ALL 10:45 - @45km ( 3h30min from start ) [ TOTAL TIME: 3h30min] in Ultra to still get a finish in the Marathon but you have to then take the Marathon exit and receive a red sticker. 12:15 - @60km ( 1h30min from previous point ) [ TOTAL TIME: 5h00min] WP 4. You will be pulled off and given the option to take the dirt road back to the venue or wait and go back with the sweeper. 13:15 - @74km ( 1h00min from previous point) [ TOTAL TIME: 6h00min] in the Ultra you will be DNF in the ULTRA & Marathon if this point is not reached before this time. 16:00 - @105km ( 2h45min from previous point) [ TOTAL TIME: 8h45min] on the finish line, you will get a DNF in the ULTRA if not reached before this time.
