  1. Anyone on here looking to get rid of a 26inch bike? My 11 year old son has outgrown his 24inch and it's time for his next bike. 26inch bikes are like hens teeth. He can fit on his moms small 27.5inch Giant trance, so I might also consider something like that but in XS. Ideally a full suspension, but will happily consider well specced hard tail.
  2. Ahhh Tesla...you beauty. Portfolio gain of 48% in 2 months.
  3. My wife has a Garmin Fenix 5s. It’s time for a Christmas upgrade. She is not a hardcore athlete but does use it for hikes/cycling/running. We have always used the Fenix series but she has shown interest in the Apple Watch. I have been watching lots of reviews but they all focus on the blood oxygen and not really on the normal Apple Watch features. I am keen for some first hand information from those that know.
  4. Good to see thats not an exclusively Kiwi thing either.
  5. I use the XM3’s as my Microsoft Teams headset. Use them daily for 2-4 hours a day and they are rock solid. I reckon you will be fine.
  6. The Brother of the owner of our IT business that I work for is a barrister and solicitor. He has changed disciplines to property law and is making a killing. A saffa mates wife was a bigshot for Ernst and Young and was headhunted to come over to NZ. As soon as she could, she quit, became a real estate agent and is printing money. I cannot get over how bizarre this all is. Some friends of ours are in an absolute frenzy to try and buy a run down meth house for $1.4m in Howick because it is in the "right" school zone. They reckon they would need to spend around $150k just to get it liveable. Its totally stupid.
  7. Yo dudes and dudettes. I am looking for some suggestions on some clever bike storage ideas. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/187699-bike-storage-solutions/ Help a bro out.
  8. The new rental has a ducted air conditioner. I put it on for 45 minutes late int he afternoon and the whole place cools down and stays nice and cool for most of the night. Gotta love double glazing!
  9. Our previous rental was a 40 year old multi storey with really bad insulation. It was cut into a steep gradient and not well insulated between the ground and the walls in the lower levels. Having moved to a 2 year old rental in Silverdale, I can honestly say that old homes can go suck a toffee. I cannot believe how huge the difference is and wish I had moved sooner.
  10. I move to a temporary rental to Silverdale on Monday. Then chill out for 10 months while we build in Millwater.
  11. in a few weeks, I will live super close to this and be keen!
  12. Just out of curiosity, how many people on here are Reddit users?
  13. I had no idea the chit chat section was such a small % of activity. As a person that uses that area exclusively, it feels like the biggest portion of the hub. I suppose perspective is a wonderful thing. Everything has a season.
  14. I look to the left. I look to be the right. I only see one person behaving like a knob here. It ain’t Matt.
  15. my real name is Piet.
  16. Take away anonymous usernames. Bet you a billion zim dollars people will choose their words carefully when they are not hiding behind a false username.
  17. I am out with Manflu. Sorry peeps, but as patches so nicely put it, a snotty nose is no longer socially acceptable. Next one the first round is on me for atonement.
  18. Ride your bike more dammit
  19. That last shed is amazing. We also were considering one a while back as I prefer the bikes to stand on the wheels rather than be hung up.
  20. I am a little sick with some bug at the moment. In fact, going for my first Covid test today, So unless I show major signs of improvement, I doubt I will make this one as I am pretty sure none of you want to catch my germs. However, if things improve, then I am totally in.
  21. Anyone on here looking for a bunk bed desk combo for their kids? I bought and installed one for my daughter but she wants to go back to a normal bed. Includes a mattress and fancy memory foam topper. The one we have is solid white and the pedestal thingy moves around on wheels. I bought it new in April from these guys. https://nzlifestyleimports.co.nz/product/miami-white-loft-bunk-single-bed-desk/ $500 to a hubber for everything.
  22. not sure why you are quoting my post when I was not the one to bring it up.
  23. actually, there are amazing brands of vegan dog food that provides a fully balanced and complete nutrition plan. The science has come a long way. This is not the case for cats.
  24. I agree with Chris. The gears are not really used much when my daughter rides a 20 inch. My son is on a 24 inch and he uses his gears all the time. Other than the gears, my kids have both used this and its really quite bulletproof https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/kids-bikes/kids-hybrid-bikes/precaliber/precaliber-20-7-speed/p/28106/?colorCode=black
