  1. Seems like however our government decide to use taxpayers money people will complain. At least the Chief of police is not buying himself a new fancy car or spending 10mil on an end of year dinner. I think its a great initiative
  2. Mariske Strauss 23rd . Only 25 riders not lapped in a field of 76
  3. Orbit

    Tour of Arae

Not the Munga but looks a real hard mans race (ride) for the roadies. Who's in? http://www.tourofarae.co.za
  4. So much of nice! Those orange Candy's are superb.
  5. Do MTN sponsor the broadcasting rights? Personally I don't mind the adds. I'd rather have awesome sport on tv and watch the adds than miss out on the sport because of no sponsors or something stupid like that.
  6. That 3rd discipline is a big problem it seems. I preferred 4x personally. I mean how much of this do you see in XCE? I think Albstadt have got it right with pumptrack, night races etc in the leadup. We dont need more pro events but need something to attract spectators imo.
  7. So its round number 4 this weekend in Germany. No saffas sprinting it out in the eliminator, I guess they all saving their legs for the XC. Plenty of our guys lining up this weekend. Junior women: Bianca Haw (4th on the startline) Junior men: Sybrand Strauss, Marco Joubert, Matthew Lombardi and Louw Kriel. U23 Women:Candice Neethling U23 Men: William Mokgopo, James Reid, Travis Walker, Tim Wilkins and Dylan Rebello. Elite Women: Mariske Strauss and Cherie Vale Elite men: Philip Buys and Rourke Croeser. Let me know if there's anyone I've missed out! My picks for the weekend are Prevot in the women after that dominating performance last week. The men its going to be tight between Absalon who loves this course and Nino who looks to be finding some form. As always live on Sunday on SuperSport or www.redbull.tv if you don't like the MTN adverts.
  8. Pretty sure its all sponsor-funded. For the girls Time-freight and Velolife will definitely help them along. Now that we also have Kargo involved with the men, hopefully we will see more of them going across. I know they've sent a few guys to the next round in Germany which is good. Not sure about Brendon and James as they're both Trek but Brendon not going across?
  9. Racing in EU and US is a must for our guys. Bit of a debate on Tweeta this last week re. racing in SA to get UCI points. Sure, we need the points but it doesn't help having points and then going over to WC races in Europe and getting lapped out. As far as funds allow we have to get our riders overseas.
  10. James Reid just got 10th in U23 mens. Not as good as his opening round result of 4th but no doubt a few guys missed it due to the travelling. Young Saffas doing us proud
  11. Klapperkop then a lap if fountains and back through The Kop. Plenty of people out this morning.
  12. Probably because Yankee doesn't have to pay thanks to her family ties... Doesn't let them count as "official?" Ty was only organising to ride with her after JHB2C and entries were long closed by then.
  13. I'm keen to do some rides in the mornings. Based in Hatfield. Lets see if we can refine some of the details.
  14. Tube taped to bottom of saddle. Bomb, 2 levers, bomb adapter and multitool in back pocket. Other pocket takes a snack with phone and a Mandela. Never needed more than that on the trail.
  15. Didn't we discuss this the other day? You have nothing to stand on in court if you are hit cycling the wrong way... Surely this trumps anything else?
  16. I know the one in Maritzburg is now "Forever Cycles"?
  17. I see "Peter Sagan" is trending on twitter... Pretty impressive
  18. Haha, I see a few "Perdeby" articles scattered about... So its true, nobody really reads it! At least its put to some good use
  19. Burry in front through the rocks! Where he needs to stay if he's gonna drop these 2!
  20. Burry riding really well! Does anyone else notice that a lot of the time the spectators are behind a second barrier and not right up against the bunting?! Seems to take a bit of the atmosphere away I think...
  21. Doesn't the saying go, "if you had to ask (it probably isn't)"...
  22. Does anybody use endo on their BB curve? I downloaded it a while ago but never used it cos it cant seem to ever find gps signal... Is it just me? Or my dodgy phone?
  23. Skip the bacon... Just have yourself a nice Spanish steak and you're all set!
  24. What Varsity do you go to? I want in.
