  1. Given this post by the race, it'd be concerning (false advertising even) if it were not a qualifier
  2. 50km/h headwinds predicted and now we have to pay this aero penalty 😂
  3. Pretty certain this is a direct result of the PPA race: - crashes in A meant a slower finish time for A relative to B and C - for some reason they only adjusted the finish time for seeding purposes by 2mins This means a whole bunch of B & C (like a hundred from each) are now in $,@,& (myself included) 100% sure the groups will split early, though the wind forecast for the southern parts is looking quite grim if you get dropped off the back
  4. For someone who once tried to convince me not to buy a gravel bike, you sure have bought a lot of gravel bikes 🤣

  6. True, added 2023, 2022, 2021 sheets to the main response workbook, and a "Year-by-year" comparison sheet That's as far back as I have access to
  7. Right, here we go: https://forms.gle/qKdzEgcComUNnkL49 Responses: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Bdu7GElrv_IrTtVEqKw0v-gt9FkDSYAoVT16c5UAMHE/edit?usp=sharing 2023 Responses: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VRdGxAqXuxwSVGQmNRPX_9wbj-gpiT-_K3NSGu0t1tk/edit#gid=1509522831
  8. Just for @throttles
  9. You can see your start group on Racetec http://results.racetec.co.za/results.aspx?sid=0
  10. Unfortunately epic rides only goes out to next Wednesday 😂
  11. Thanks, joining you in &. Unexpected (at least, it was before the dogshow that was PPA seeding), but I'll take it...
  12. Yes, but they've done it a bit differently this year. Those doing PPA didn't even get a first seeding group, they held them all back until after they've presumably done some calcs off the back of that race.
  13. Jeepers...
  14. Have you received confirmation of your group? I haven't seen anything since the new index.
  15. C did the crit segment at 42.2km/h
  16. Hey, if they’d made the beta any higher, you and I would have had indexes under 10 😂
  17. Yeah, I'd love to know what this does to @DieselnDust's theory that "sub 15 index pretty much guarantees a racing group" (I paraphrase, but it's largely accurate) Gonna be a lot of those from today (many from C group...)
  18. There, but far less than 99er
  19. I have to agree, even though this seeding significantly helps me. There’s no way a 2:50 today equates to an 11 index in any rational world, and yet…
  20. Oh my, I did not expect that. winning time only adjusted by 1 min, beta of 0.69. my index went from 23 to 11 😂
  21. The adjusted winning time for seeding purposes is going to be *very* interesting, First "A" grouper by time was 33rd overall. B "won" in 2h39, much slower than previous years. We shall see...
  22. Yeah, he’s also Matt Beers mtb partner, gives you an idea of his strength. With regards to the white line, that’s always a bit loose through the “crit circuit” to start, though it did get a bit sketch at that one stop street left handed where a bakkie appeared coming the other way 🙈
  23. It only got wet in the last 10k Crashes (at least the ones I saw) were people drifting off line, crossing wheels, etc
  24. I did have a chuckle when Alex Miller (who was clearly caught up in the A group crash) came past C group and took about 8 people with him for about 10k (during which he did all the work on the front), then dropped them all solo and C caught the “breakaway” just before the silos. I honestly thought we’d never see them again, but luckily (for me) Alex burned them all even when they were in his draft 😂
