  1. Also happy to help. Based in Pinelands
  2. Got tired of my 1x drivechain dropping, so designed and printed a chain guard. No drops since I installed it, so seems to be working Then, since I mount my Ryder Concept 700 light under my garmin, I decided to print a custom mount that angles it down at 20 degrees, so it shines on the road in front of me, rather than in oncoming drivers' eyes
  3. Presumably on the Sunday, since that's whe the ultra is this year?
  4. Neil (NB cycles, Pinelands) is different to Neels (Woodstock Cycle works)
  5. Tell him to go to NB cycles (in pinelands) and chat to Neil. They tend to carry cheaper 2nd hand bikes and should be able to sort him out. Plus then they can assist with any down the line issues. NB Cycles 021 531 2221 https://maps.app.goo.gl/z48cjAe7jSyW8Mn69
  6. First time (riding) up to Blockhouse this morning. Turns out it's very manageable on a gravel bike, despite my fears (and my dad zooming past me on his ebike, irreparably hurting my feelings, on occasion 😂) Filmed the descent, if you want to check out the track conditions, have a look here: https://youtu.be/0ZT6Bj4_ri8
  7. Level up for the laaitie. 20 inch Titan Hades SE (currently on special at Cyclelab/CW). Really (really) nice bike (nicer brakes than mine 🙈), kid managed to work out how gears work in about 10 minutes 😂
  8. Race of Truth (aka, the other DC) also postponed to October
  9. Challenge accepted! And yes, you can Here we have my Rook with my 29" 25C road (rim brake) rear wheel (front wheel left on for comparison). Actually a decent amount of clearance, could probably go up to about 35C I reckon. So maybe you do have options with a Rook after all...
  10. Well, I suppose it was somewhat inevitable, but still a pain in the ass. Postponed to 18 September.
  11. It's a very nice bike (had one for about 6 months). 1 thing to be aware of: 650B wheels limits your options somewhat for swapping out tyres. Apart from that, I've been very happy.
  12. I also used Squirt. Just checked my chain, still covered (and I did 4 hours of constant rain)
  13. Is me! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TEW2E8XN15H2BYoizjc1Ai_bdZUZOoTgd9upzngrpUU Right click, leave a comment, will update the actuals.
  14. "Ebikes don't hurt people's feelings. People riding ebikes overtaking people up chappies hurt people's feelings" 😂
  15. fyi, if you've been stuck in the giant air travel gemors today....
  16. Your best bets: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vS7bFn8RH5Na4vVxNijCsFCiHeYqRksDi5D9ddC9Fz4yK7nOQhEg8HwG78lz-PFVB2EkFn4QlJKEXMV/pubhtml#
  17. Where did you get it from? Also about to pull the trigger on a 20" for my son, and trying to get something quality that will last for him and then his sister.
  18. Yeah, I also opened the app, did the prediction, then very quickly closed the app... I'll check again next week 🙈
  19. Last long ride, time to start the taper. Was lekker gloomy this morning, only got some semblance of "sunrise" at the top of Black Hill.
  20. You sound very concerned about what other people are doing, when what they are doing has no effect on you. Maybe you should think about that a while.
  21. Very cool. Probably worth noting that 2021 went to 'F', whereas this year it only goes to 'D', so might be hard to draw exact comparisons.
  22. A bigger day out than planned (and also one that included doing Ou Kaap 90km in 🙈), but made much better by my new (old) bike. At half the weight of my steel gravel bike, and with significantly thinner tyres, a couple of climbing PBs were the order of the day 😁
