  1. Oops, didnt see there was a specific commuting thread, thanks Admin, :-). Just found another cool idea, although, I'm not sure if these guys have heard about South African's using their eye sockets / teeth / any other body part to open beer: http://www.boingboing.net/2011/04/08/bike-seat-clamp-with.html
  2. This would be an awesome solution for parking bikes if it were to ever become reality: fastcodesign Come to think of it, I know a few people that would benefit by having one of these installed at their house.
  3. We need rules... :-) Starting price, bid increments and closing time should be listed, ;-)
  4. next Deal?
  5. Agreed, I don't have a torque wrench but its "tight", :-) may need to take it past the LBS and put the torque wrench to it and check.
  6. I've always wondered what the strength comparison is of Centre-lock vs 6-bolt, I find my CL's creak, especially at the back when i first start applying the brakes. What are the chances of a CL rotor slipping / stripping out the splines?
  7. I wonder how long these would last in SA These Awesome Public Bike Repair Stations Let You Fix Your Bike for Free Think is a great idea to install them along the routes in our various bike parks (MTN, Rietvlei, Teak etc)? :-)
  8. Think its been asked in another thread, but here goes: Is there any way of showing the "Latest Forum Posts" widget on the left when browsing the new classifieds section? Awesome revamp so far, :-)
  9. I reckon it’s an awesome idea, I've had photos from my iPhone 4 printed and both myself and my wife were very surprised by the quality of most of the shots, of course in a compact / non dedicated device you do not have all the options you do on a dedicated device, there are some very good 3rd party applications that do allow you to adjust for various lighting conditions etc. Also, Let’s face it, for those of us sitting behind a desk during the day, seeing live photos uploaded even scaled down to 800x600 would be awesome, it’s not like we will be printing them in A0 to display publicly. Now, if only i could get down to CPT I’d sign up for the adventure for sure.
  10. +1 agreed.
  11. Anyone else notice that it appears to have no FD but has at least 2 chainrings up front... VoooDooo?
  12. Option A. slightly more aggressive on the front with minimal loss in rolling resistance. Kinda depends on the terrain you ride, if you are riding around loose leaves, exposed roots etc then A for sure, if mostly dry single track the B would be perfect.
  13. My 2c, you should really not risk it, rather package it up and send it my way,
  14. @Capricorn, lol, that is so true, take that one step further and try putting together a RC heli and trying to hide all those wires in a place where everything is totally exposed, drives me insane, :-)
  15. Getting the popcorn ready...
  16. We need wireless brakes...
  17. One word, Stunning!!!!
  18. Hey, when did that happen, no longer called Mount Everest, now known as "Eagle Mountain".
  19. St Peters on a Tuesday evening was always excellent fun, :-) Those shoes hurt even back then, dont even want to think what a few hours on Everst would feel like now.
  20. It is, havent been there for years but it was sold just after we stopped climbing and renovated quite nicely, would love to go back and dust off the shoes, :-) http://www.wonderwall.co.za/default.aspx
  21. ahhh, Mnt Everest, 6 pitches of absolute bliss, :-), one of the best experiences I had, that and Roc Rally.
  22. Us climbers never did have a good forum like this to hang out, perhaps its cause we were always chasing the next route, :-). I would love to know what the storage life is on climbing equipment, all my kit (ropes, Cams, nuts, QDs, etc) was all cleaned, dried and stored in a dark "box", probably about 3-4 years now.
  23. Any Alberton South riders here also Climbers? May be some areas where we could ride to, do some climbing exercise and then ride back, would also be good exercise carrying some additional weight in the form of ropes, QDs etc, :-)
