  1. I'm done here, going to go hangout in the white bikes only thread now.
  2. We are quite lucky, we have a very good CPF (no golf clubs and paintball guns liike some of the other areas - just a good team with solid SAPS backup) and SAPS in the area, yes, with working sector vehicles that are often patrolling the areas so it’s worthwhile trying them.
  3. couldn’t agree more with SK. At no stage did i bring race into the topic, i said "...you see a guy in...", any race, it’s the first thing we all think, it’s human nature, there may very well be a logical explanation. If it turns out that he works hard, saved and earned the bike, hell, I'm even going to support him even more, get him a card for rietvlei, take him on rides etc, but if it turns out to be a stolen bike then let’s try get it back to its rightful owner, even if that may be the insurance company.
  4. WW, I'm in Brackendowns, we could get the CPF to assist us with at least stopping the guy and asking a few questions, from there they can get the SAPS involved. Send me a PM and lets get the guy - at least we will have a story to tell if it turns out that someone donated it etc, :-) To the rest, what’s the first thing you think of when you see a guy in an overall, tatty shoes etc riding a shiny bike with disk brakes, clip pedals etc....thought so.
  5. Two trees would be ok for a weekday but they don’t have the staff or process to handle any significant volumes, had to stand in the queue to pay the bill. At least they could do is separate ordering and paying processes. Also I can really recommend avoiding the French toast like the plague, on the flip side, the triple hot chocolate is amazing.
  6. Well Done JD, looks ready for the SSWC2012
  7. Nice one Ben, looks stunning (i still reckon that fork has my name on it for one day when you decide to move on, :-) ), good luck for DM tomorrow, you planning to do it on the 650B setup?
  8. I love the stuff, just dont let the secret out, else we might not find stock soon, :-)
  9. I use "GO Chain wax" from Bearing Man, works brilliantly, been very happy with it and the pricing was reasonable @ around R50 for a 120ml bottle and to be honest, 2 applications and you only need a small amount after each wash as a maintenance treatment. http://www.bmgworld.net/Page_Files/file/BMG-CW23102008.pdf
  10. What Weather can do to aircraft on the ground.
  11. Another one, although a load less details and a much lighter plane (lol, by a few tonnes) http://www.wimp.com/parkedaircraft/
  12. Man I should've rotated that before i sent it, :-), All clear now, seems the SAPS negotiators have some skills, lets hope the guy gets some help.
  13. http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=14&products_id=55 Cycling / Misc http://kalecoauto.com/images/friendlycatspaw.jpg larger image The Friendly Cat's Paw $49.95 Motorists and Cyclists alike, As you already know: most states require a three foot buffer for a motorist to pass a cyclist. How far is three feet? Well, it's pretty impractical to hang a measuring tape out of your window. So what is the solution? The KaleCoAuto Friendly Cat's Paw. Simply attach the clamp side to your bicycle and extend the telescoping Cat's Paw. This extends to exactly 2ft 11 and 7/8ths inches. If a motorist passes too close, the spring-loaded Cat's Paw will gently brush the paint of the vehicle and emit a high pitched squealing sound as the (user replaceable!) friendship-blades run across the paint! The motorist will know immediately they are too close, and give you a friendly wave. Whew! Accident avoided. Another KaleCoAuto product that makes sharing the road safer and more fun!* Weight Weenies: Only 113 grams! *Not for use with pedestrians.
  14. Oh no, that does not sound good???????? (call me in the morning) Havent done a night ride for some time now, actually have not been on a bike since the opening of Thaba Trails and the birth of the little one, seriously need to start getting back into it, even if its just for the night rides .
  15. Sunglasses missing a lens, must've fallen out with the fork...
  16. CWC have some nice specials at the mo, #justsaying :-)
  17. That is AWESOME, hope she gives you many safe and happy miles.
  18. AMT near ORT has all the cloth and resins you will ever need, :-) http://www.amtcomposites.co.za/
  19. That said there seems to be 2 other trends that I've noticed, both selling and buying via the classifieds, there are users that will reply to an ad saying things like "Dibs, I'll take it" or "Please hold it for me, I'll confirm collection ASAP" and then never respond which means the sale gets held for that user potentially for weeks. Secondly thing when buying (at least attempting to) is hubbers who will sell items with no consideration of who responded.
  20. Last night's turn out was awesome, sure there must have been at least 30+ people riding, split up into 2 main groups, :-) Turns out that its a really good idea to make sure your batteries are sufficiently charged before going out, at one stage I was riding with what seemed to be a mini Bic lighter strapped to the front, not so cool, thanks to those in front and behind me for keeping the trail lit up though. Anyone know where we can find out more details about the night racing series? race times, rules, costs etc?
  21. As well as excellent experience for the 24hr, :-) The Thursday night rides are a blast, seeing as there are no other riders out there is the opportunity to do tracks that are not normally done as well as changing directions etc (what was a hectic climb can quite easily become a awesome drop off, ;-)) Standard entry to the park of R20 at the gate (alternatively you can buy a card with 10 entries for R150 i think) Correction, its R25 entry payable at the shop and not at the gate.
  22. Had the opportunity to ride with some friends on Wednesday and did the new section for the second time, I still had to walk one or 2 of the steep sections due to the previous evening's rain but on the whole we had an awesome morning. The new section has definitely added a new "twist" to that side of the park, thank you very much for all the effort that went into setting it up, :-)
  23. Lol, between the 9'ers wanting all the bling and tech and the SS'ers wanting the simplest options us 26'ers dont stand a chance, :-)
