  1. I am doing the Trans Baviaans (two man team) in August. My riding partner and I have the same riding style and are quite well suited. He is strong on climbs and myself strong on the straight pulls. We are both Trans Baviaan's Novices and spent most of our years as roadies. Having just come out of the summer road season, we currently ride twice a week for around 1.5 to 2hrs at night. Weekends we put in a few more hours over Saturday & Sunday. 3 weeks ago we road 185km MTB. I rode 130km yesterday MTB in 6hrs30 on dirt road, jeep track. Any suggestions on constructive training tips. We are just riding for the adventure part of it and wanting a finish. If we do it in 14 to 16hrs will be bonus! Any advice, greatly appreciated.
  2. I am looking at making a purchase of a set of Easton EA70 XC 26' and was wondering if anyone out there has had a set, using or (abusing) a set and can offer some feed back. Not the lightest set of wheels but at 1680g per set & the price I will be paying, I am keen to look at them..... Any feed out there?
  3. Which is better? A 2 bolt stem face or a 4 bolt stem face on a road bike carbon bars? Which would be the better bet relating to stability, holding & safety? Any one to share an opinion?
  4. 1.86m 88kg If u really want to put some science into the matter.....age counts as well. The older we get, the harder it is to keep the flubber off.......
  5. Lyk maar baie "spiffy"!!! BAie Nice!! Still deciding if I will buy a set or not???? If i knew they were "bullet proof" like my other wheels.....then wouldn't waste time.....!!!
  6. Has anybody maybe managed to purchase a set of 2011 Easton EA50 Aero wheels (Red hubs/ bladed spokes)? I am looking at buying. I have trained And even raced on the older Easton Vista wheels and they have really been "bullet proof". The 2011 EA50 come with bladed spokes 20/24, lesser than the Vista. Easton maintain there are no weight limits on the EA50 and they are even strong enough for cyclecross?? I am not too concerned of the weight (1780g per set) Any hubbers out there with views?
  7. Shots Wannabe....got the download.....
  8. Thats 'J for me!
  9. As "Fakes" said, I didn't know you but I also have a love of what you did. An inspiring legacy left, even at the young age of 23, for many up and coming determined cyclists as well as those who just ride for the love of it. In life we are guaranteed 2 things. We are born and we will die. When is the mystery. But most important is what we choose to do within that time that will count most. Reading write-ups on Carla Swart, she touched many a life in her short time, her family can be proud that she lived her life the same way she raced her races....determined to make that difference. May her family & friends find the courage & strength in this sad time. Mourn her passing but celebrate her life. R.I.P
