  5. Ok, here's the story, a friend of mine gave me a Manitou Sliver Shock as a present. It was on his sons bike, he took it of and put something else on. He loaned it to a lady friend of his that did one race with it. So it's still brand new. The problem is that the steerer tube is cut. It does not fit on my or my sons bike. What can I do... is it worth it to put on a new steerer tube?
  6. OK I'm using whasp for the first time this weekend in Clarens. Dont want to be picky but there a typo in the second paragraph is says jumping in the steam and not stream. just thought that if it goes of to the printers or worse it maybe already was you could rectify it.
  7. There is some kind of medical condition that locks up your fingers. I have the same problem, it's called some kind of syndrome, not sure. You have to see a physio about it...
  8. My son is 11 years old and he usually do the 40 k on the mtb. however at the Silverstar Casino race the commissaire (not sure of spelling) came up to me and said that there are mtb rules for ages and distances and he is not allowed. Well my son got some tears in the eyes and the guy sais: "ok this time". But it also confuses me, are there rules or not. He easily finishes the 40 k races. I think a 15 year old should be fine. O yes and about gear restrictions on the road he's only allowed to ride bigger than 16 tooth. i think for the 16 year olds it's bigger than 14 tooth. They say its bad for the development of their legs if they crank too big a gear.
  9. Have anyone used the microshift MTB groupset? How good or bad is it. Do they sell disc brakes? I'm thinking of putting on a bike I want to build up for my wife.
  10. Do anybody know of any chart or something on tyre presure. I use 2 bar, but im thinking of upping it to 2.5 bar...
  11. Ok so i totalled my DT Swiss 4.2d rim. i think it is because my tyre presure was too low. I weigh 82 kg's and i'm 1,87m tall. is there some chart on tyre pressure, or some advice please. i don't want to run a too high presure as i ride a hardtail. i use Maxxis Larsen TT foldables.
  12. Slime is crap, I used it once and got lots of flats. Since i started using OKO i have'nt had one single flat.

  16. My XTR disk brakes are not releasing properly. It looks like dust contaminated the movement of the two pistons. Any advice on how to clean this?

  20. Ok I've dissasembled my egg beaters by using a 8 mm. socket. The body and bearing came out. How do I take the rest of the pedal apart. I need to change the metal thingies where the cleat goes into. I hit it against a rock at the magalies monster.
