If you did then you would recognise that this is nerves, or cold or a mixture of the two. Anyone who uses drugs in SA cycling to win a race is A. Not very talented B. Not trained enough C. Dilusional D.pathetic
  8. My sentiments are the same as Robbie Hunter. I think its absolutly disgusting that a guy on your team could put you whole familys future in jeprody. These guys riding the tour have families and Mortgages / Bonds to pay people who rely on them, where do these Criminals....cause this is what they are CRIMINALS, who fool us into believeing there Gifts and talent are natural make the Clean guys look average. they are taking the food from the clean guys mouth and family table because they are denying them the Winnings and accolades they deserve. I agree also that David Millar should shut his mouth.... I mean from what planet does he think he is from...... Forgive but never forget.......a cheater
  9. Has anyone's belief in the "Tour" waned with the doping scandles..... does anyone care or has it made it more or less popular? I meanwould you go out and stand on the side of the road if you knew you were watching dopers? or do you care Is it not a bit like watching the movie stars now without their makeup?
  10. Its turning into a Farce..... seems like you have to break your bones to get out of the tour....a bad crash does not suffice.... you need a reason like.... sore back... dont tell the manager, Francis. not a hint of suspicion!!! I have never seen so many crashes in all my life, are these guys not supposed to be pros, its like watching the F bunch on Jan Smuts i the 94.7
  11. the race to get out of the bunch...... things very hot in there at the moment... like rats on a sinking ship
  12. He has rejoined the race......
  13. Sorry Holy roller....seems like you were the first to bring the news I will delete my thread
  14. Spanish rider Mois?s Due?as has become the second rider to register a non-negative test for banned blood booster erythropoietin at the Tour de France. The results came from a sample taken from the Barloworld rider after the Grand Tour's first time trial, Stage 4 on July 8 in Cholet, according to head of the French Anti-doping Agency (AFLD) Pierre Bordry. French authorities reportedly spent two hours searching the rider's room at Le Rex, the team hotel where Barloworld and Bouygues Telecom were staying in Tarbes, France. Only one room is believed to have been searched by French authorities during the morning, number 604 ? that of the Spanish rider. News of Due?as' test result has spread quickly after confirmation this morning from the senior French anti-doping agency figure, including on LEquipe.fr - a newspaper owned by the same parent company as the Tour. The rider held 19th position on general classification heading into today's Stage 11, which he is unlikely to contest. Due?as has been a professional since 2004 with his biggest success to date victory at the Tour de l'Avenir in 2006. He won a stage and the overall of the Regio Tour last year. The 27 year-old started out his career at Spanish team Relax-Fuenlabrada, before moving to Agritubel for the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Due?as joined Barloworld at the beginning of this season, with the squad again one of a select number of Professional Continental squads to be invited to the prestigious French race. The Spaniard has no wins this year, but was hoping to aim high in the Tour. Due?as hails from Salamanca in central Spain. Barloworld's team-manager Claudio Corti wasn't available for comment as the news broke. Due?as is the second rider to register a non-negative sample at this year's Tour de France. On July 12 news broke that fellow Spaniard Manuel Beltr?n from the Liquigas squad also tested non-negative to EPO, with the rider thrown out of the Tour immediately. Beltr?n is awaiting the results of his B-sample test to learn his fate, with Liquigas already confirming the rider will be dumped if the second test upholds the results from his first sample. French newspaper L'Equipe reported that Beltran was one of 10 riders found by the AFLD to have abnormal blood values in the days prior to the Tour. On July 3 and 4, the AFLD performed blood tests on riders "to allow for subsequent targeted doping tests during the Tour de France", the agency announced Friday. The other nine riders who showed abnormal results were to be informed last weekend by AFLD, but the agency said that it would take no action against the riders other than to suggest that they submit the results to their team doctor "because of the possibility of a health risk", a statement read. The AFLD said that it does not have the results of the same riders' testing which was performed in the first half of the year as part of the UCI's blood passport program, but "in the spirit of cooperation with the international federation" it would forward the results to the UCI for inclusion with those riders' profiles. AFLD has been contracted to carry out anti-doping procedures at this year's Tour, which is governed by the French Cycling Federation following event organiser ASO's falling-out with the sport's international governing body Union Cycliste Internationale. All teams competing in the non-UCI event had to sign contracts with ASO prior to taking part, which were said to include strict measures to deal with breaches of the doping regulations. The Tour was rocked in 2007 by a number of positive samples, with the most high-profile coming from former Astana rider Alexandre Vinokourov. The Kazakh's positive led to his Astana squad being thrown out of the Tour and disallowed from contesting this year's event ? despite undergoing a complete restructure under new management.
  15. Breaking news...... bad day for TDF Moises nevada positive for EPO......
  16. You need to be on dope to play cricket..... I mean if you hae to stand there for that long to "maybe" catch a ball, what sort of thought could be going through your head. I think something would clearly have to be taken to get so excited!!!
  17. Riders have no problem with the tests... everyone make too much from it, I think the new generation of riders prefare it that way, have you noticed how many young guys have won stages? Ricco, Sanches, et al. Its an exceptional deterrent, unfortunitly there are those who believe it wont happen to them......... Wake up and smell those beans roasting....
  18. Chunky...your a sceptic...... No riders in the tour use drugs.... why would they?! As for the "10" with abnormal blood values..... not innocent until proven guilty!
  19. With reference to line up of previous National champions, would the same riders win the same races if they rode a trek, colnago, cervelo? most probably. Would it make a difference if everyone rode the same bike, No the smartest, fastest, strongest rider would invariably win, top machines vary little..... but lots made of this little because a little can be a lot!
  20. Brilliant
  21. OK OK, sorry for the "Asshole" comment...... Sorry for hurting your feelings....... sorry for my comments sorry for posting sorry for # sorry
  22. 1.Rookie101.....how would I know you were a lady? only your hubby/boyfriend let everyone know!!!! As a Ultimite Hubber and I "assume" cyclist of a few years, you should know the joy of riding with friends in a group why do you feel the need to respond "with comment" to everyones comments? Can you ever say you rode in a group that rode too far out on the road or searched for some shelter while riding in the wind, do you ride inside the white/yellow line at all times? Give your fellow cyclists a break... they are out enjoying themselves keeping fit, your here posting comment while you should be on your bike!
  23. Having lived in South Africa for a considerable length of time, I can unreservedly say Life in Africa is not that bad. Consider all the positives and negatives, weigh them up, and you will see that the grass is very green in SA. Life might look great from a distance,in america, europe and australia..... it might seem easier somewhere else, you might earn more elsewhere, but you wont find what SA has to offer, you wont find people with the attitude South African's have. Make the most of life where YOU are, inflation and economic woe affect everyone on a worldwide scale, just because the interest rate is bad in SA dont think its better anywhere else, right now around the world home owners are facing the same challenges, food is becoming more expensive due to many factors. this is the world we live in and we have to accept it, its always been the same, think back 20 years have prices increased on every single comodity? Yea there a problems in SA, there are problems everywhere..... there is no Eutopia...... Just do your best, Love your life....love those around you.
  24. See he was being charged for a nice new box..... but he didnt want to pay! I would presume from my dealings with Cyclelab they dont do half measures, thats why they offered him a new box when asked.
