F1 needs to become a spectacle if it is to survive. Noise and the goosebumps that come from it is a massive part of that thrill. I don’t sit on YouTube listening to these new cars, but I’ll spend hours with a chubby listening to the 90s cars

Yup. I helped out a youngster a few years ago. Did well in SA, few Elite podiums, lots of u23 wins etc. Decided he wants to go pro. He went to Europe for a season, saw what it was really like out there.Came back and started a normal career. No point in pissing against the wind with false hopes and dreams. Unless you are riding off the front of SA peloton with 50km to go and staying away, like Willie or Brendon used to do, you stand snowballs chance in hell in WT.
