  1. How did you get them? or where did you buy them?
  2. had an absolute blast this year! great tracks and the best food at any multistage event hands down. i'll do this ever year if i can, its really that good.
  3. Can say these Mentis3D guys are pathetic i've tried getting hold of them and never get a response
  4. Hi all, PM me for your orange seal orders. Our site is currently down for maintenance and updates
  5. sadly likely wont work for me and my short legs. my saddles are usually set right the way forward so wont have any rail to put it on. i'm also fairly confident the saddles are ok - they are designed to carry a light so should be ok. also just a much neater finish to the bike using the existing mounts
  6. Anyone want to take this on for me? I’d be keen on at least 2 or 3 depending on the price https://www.magcad-designs.com/products/magcad-garmin-varia-bontrager-blendr-saddle-mount
  7. comment of the week right there 😂 max heart rate could also be achieved? 🤔
  8. gotta clean the wrist at some point? - also just an easy time to charge it i guess. is your wrist green by any chance? 😱
  9. i'm also very impressed with the data these devices collect. With my Epix i use it constantly. it comes off my wrist when i shower and goes back on after. that is long enough of a charge to keep it mostly fully charged. only occasionally do i need to charge it longer. by the looks of it the newer Pro version charge twice as fast - Nice
  10. My Resting Heart rate normalised but my HRV took an extra month to come right. has only recently starting getting into my normal range. i have not been training much at all - i knew it was rather best i waiting for everything to come back to normal. and i cannot stress how much of a mild covid i had. really was a non-issue
  11. I wear my Epix 24/7. it helped me realise exactly how much Covid affected me. had i not seen this i would never have known something was not fresh - i had a very very mild case. just felt tired and slightly off for this entire period.
  12. ask him to cut the tire with glass - thats the real road test. nails tend to leave a rather small hole that most sealant with deal with no probs. a 4mm straight glass cut is a different story
  13. I'd say shift performance is better with the latest Ultegra Di2. and you get more buttons to play with on the STI shifter which is nice but not relevant for TT. its also has a really intuitive gear setup using your phone compared to Srams more traditional mechanical type setup. the latest Sram Force has addressed most of its flaws - the big one being the chainring flexing under load. As its for iron man i'd say front shifting is minimal so the slower Force front shift is not an issue. the other major issue the newer force addressed was the lack of larger chainrings for TT purposes - i stand to be corrected but i think you can now buy bigger blades whereas before they did not have anything bigger than a 50. so you were then forced to fork out for a red crank. Be aware the ultegra crank scratches super easy and cannot be fixed. so you have to live with a silver scrach on a blackish crank. the carbon force crank can get damaged and repaired with a little clear coat. finally - good luck getting stock of the newer sram - its hens teeth. i personally am not a fan of Srams 10 tooth cog - when i turn my wheel on a bike stand you can definitely notice extra drag
  14. So i bought a used Scott Spark RC SL with Syncros Silverton SL wheels - yes the one piece carbon ones. really love them and the bike. an incredible ride! they are so direct on the trails that it took a bit of time to get used to them. I recently bought the newer Scott Spark RC with standard carbon wheels with a 30mm inner (newer XC setup) so i now have a standard carbon set with 30mm and the one piece 26mm wheels. i plan on trying both and then selling the bike with the wheels i like the least.
  15. when i look at that it says not shippable to South Africa? - am i missing something?
  16. I have tried repeatedly to get hold of Coolheat (aka Shimano South Africa) the phone either rings unanswered or gets answered and transferred to a line that then goes on hold for 30min before dropping. if i have to listen to that crap piano music again i think i will throw up. Coolheat is absolutely hopeless
  17. 100% in my case the cut was just to massive
  18. i had the same issue with some Eagle F1 Good years - some glass cuts are just to big for any sealant to cut it. thankfully i knew off the bat that it was to large and rotated the cut to the top to not waste sealant. (if rotated to the bottom the sealant will seal the tire but will blow back out within a few meters). i popped in a dyna plug and happily rode home. i rode that tire for a further 350km before the plug blew out - it had worn as smooth as the tire at that point. i wanted to test if a tire was toast or could be used with a plug. i replugged it with the larger MTB type plug and rode home from there. so in short - a plug will def get you home no problems. but long term use is not going to work. at least in my experience
  19. First management would have a meeting to discuss the need to have a separate meeting about possibly signing off on it.
  20. Thats actually a fair comment. my ole mans Garmin packed up after being cracked in a fall and months later getting caught in the rain. Garmin stepped up to the plate and gave a decent discount - out of warranty, clearly broken by an impact, with water damage. thats worth something. granted its in their interest to keep you as a client
  21. My edge 530 failed so often i calculated it cost me R3000 odd rand a year to own when it failed consistently just out of warranty. i did the maths and the running costs of a 1030 at the time would have been closer to R7k a year assuming it failed as often. I have since downgraded to the 130 plus to bring this running cost down. lovely little unit - heres hoping its more reliable
  22. ooof. i feel you pain as i to have done this. its toast. replace
  23. Only if you lie. it’s the old saying, if you don’t ask you don’t get. I had insurance for theft and crashes on my bike. then melted my wheel when it was hung in front of my exhaust on the bike rack. insurance laughed and paid out no issues
