  9. ya not exactly important in SA. food for thought tho, rim weights would come down in time if we go the disk route, resulting in reduction of power needed to accelerate the wheels to speed? could make for some very responsive wheels in the coming future....

  20. Ok to clarify. These wheels are going on a bike I am building for the other half!Speed and aero are not at the top of the list. Looking at a 4 hour 94.7So I'm looking to make her time going up hills as easy as possibleI'd like them to be clinchers for ease of puncture repair should she be caught out alone.I'd be happy with something around the 1550g mark.Heres a pic of the build. The current wheels with tubes tires and skewers weigh a whopping 3.4kgs
  21. haha! lol, my bad. road hoops boys...
  22. Hi All, i'm looking for some lightweight ROAD wheels for a max of R4k i dont mind buying second hand - they just need to be in good cond. anyone know someone selling a decent set at this price? Thanks in advance!
  23. did a back to back test of 26er and a 29er with my father. 29er was a mid spec yeti bigtop vs. a top of the line 26er look. we were looking for and differences in heartrates. we swapped many times during the ride. so we both had each bike when fresh, and again when we were fading a bit on the way back. what we noted post ride on the computer (using polar heart rate monitors) our heart rates were on average 10-15 beats lower on the 29er compared to the 26er... this held true for when we were fresh and when we were tired. anyone else found this? after this experiment we are sold on 29ers. not as responsive as a 26er, but it seem less energy is used and an extra confidence is gained with the larger wheel when attacking complex routes.
