if the bike reviews and hype in the market and magazines are to be believed then the 29er is the bike to buy. I must say I was sceptical but bought myself one for Christmas (I had a 26er) and I can honestly say I have no regrets as yet - if you are like me, I would hate to spend money on something only to find out it may have been the wrong buy (I use that term very loosely) and just feel obliged to mention it to you. Read tread magazine and bicycle aswell as a couple of internaional magazine's.

consider getting a 29er if the budget allows

bottom line is shop around - I have recieved good service from a number of stores but I always do some research...it may sound bad but u need to shop around and play off each vendor to get the best deal - for the record I bought some stuff yesterday from CWC yesterday and have already recieved my goods - so no complaints from this side (and Im based in jhb)

yes - it is sram... is there a 10spd "chain link" that you use repeatedly to "unclip" your chain...I used to use the ones on my 9spd rather easily, hence the frustration at present

the quick link...the ones u normally use when taking the chain off or it breaks while riding you attach a spare chain link?

Hi All - am I missing something here? I bought 2 x 10spd chain links, used my chain breaker to detach a link and now cannot get either of the 2 chain links to close, even if they not on the chain. My spare 9 spd connects easily?

so it doesnt get to cold at night at that time of the year? I assume one descent jersey is all that is really required in the event that it get a bit nippy?

I am doing the epic for the 1st time this year and very unfamiiar to cape weatehr and need to bring a sleeping bag (amongst many other things) - I was wondering what tempreture I need to cater for. I got a sleeping bag for Xmas and its range is +5deg, is this sufficient?
