    trigon bikes

Does anyone know anything or heard anything about these bikes - is it worth investigating or considering when purchasing one of these - Im interested in the 29er Hard tail by the way http://trigonsouthafrica.co.za/
  2. Based on the above - you are doing 30km less than the race distance, that extra 30 u do on race day will take its toll. Depending on your current fitness and conditioning and see no reason why you cant do a sub 4:30 but you will have ur work cut out having not done that distance before even in training
  3. I went to look at a road wheelset and cyclelab....some 16 year old asked if I needed help....he tried to sell me a 29er wheelset and even when I told them these are for mtb he was adamant they were for road. I asked him to go confirm with his supervisor, needless to say the kid was "taken off the account" so to speak.
  4. yes - I have used this. download the manual or just play with the alerts, dont have it with me so cant recall exactly how to set it up
  5. ditto re the rattle....cant stand it, my only problem regarding your solution is it's kinda permanent, the old chips had the velcro which u could use to fasten onto ur ankle which I prefferred.
  6. Im certainly keen and with teak closing down, any new track in the surrounding area is a plus
  7. I did the race and there was a nasty crash in front E group because people over lap wheels... I know it's a race & everyone is trying to do the best they can but I only just avoided the pile up - some groups where just to big to squeeze into one lane. I'm not criticizing, but it's just reality of road riding and there is most certainly an element of danger when u go out there whether it's from cars etc or other riders
  8. It's standard - I did change the wheelset but to be honest the standard wheelset is fine and won't let u down - it's around around 12.3kgs standard set up
  9. I have the giant - awesome bike and awesome ride... It is quality but I cannot say one over the other, try them on a test ride... I did with the trek hifi and chose the giant just on preference
  10. Im a sweater...I use the halo sweat band with silicon strip on the inside, its comfortable and definitly serves its purpose - I highly recommmend it to all those unfortunate sweaters like me
  11. on the waiting list for my 3rd year running...
  12. that unfortunately was a carry over from my old bike so cant blame cwc for that
  13. without saddle bag
  14. its definitly a bit more nippy and more comfortable than my other ride. From a weight perspective I have not gained much as the other frame was pretty light for its time and I have just moved over the components - the previous bike was 8.4 and Im now currently 8.3 - but the ride is better.
  15. my new weapon....
  16. I ride 54cm - standard - I am 1.76m, also medium
  17. ok - decision made - will buy it tomorrow....what wheelset is in the picture and what is the cost?
  18. thats exactly what I have done - now just trying to get an idea from people who actually ride the bike
  19. HI All, I am considering get this machine - it looks pretty good and the reviews seem pretty good - does anyone have 1st hand experience on this. Is 12.7k a good buy for the frameset (including seat post) what else should I consider in this price range. I did see an add in the states for the 2011 frame set at $850 - thanks in advance
  20. I have the bike - fantastic ride, takes some time to set up (i moved from a 26'), but once I was sorted on set up what a pleasure
  21. i'll wait for a rider/hubber review - a mag review/advert is always fairly good.
  22. wiggle or chainreaction are ur only options
  23. I dont think northern farms is open during the week anyways - your problem is not unique no matter what level you are at. I have bought an indoor trainer to use in the off season(winter) duirng the week and will try use it 2/3 times in the morning before work - in the evenings I will go to gym and do some core, run and some weight training. on the weekend is when I get my longer rides in, I suggest joining a club and doing the club ride on a sat morning and then off to northen farms/teak/breedts on a sunday. In summer there is the engen ride which is a morning ride in bryanston starting around 4:55am and you'll be done by 6:15....bit to cold now (or atleast for me) - that is all I can do while trying to pay the bills and the trick is to use your time effectively.
  24. yawn
  25. ditto re the specialised - I used a test saddle based on the sit bones measurement and now have the phenom 155 - no more issues
