  1. Hi Faster than Fast, can you post a pic, size and specs of your Scott. Decent Tubeless tyres and proper saddle?
  2. Nothing wrong with the topend bikes, just change the freaking name. Would rather ride a similar bike with no name. The fact is for 98 % of SA Raleigh =
  3. Anthem 2008 Large, 11.7kg. non standard components.
  4. I think it will be worthwhile for Raleigh to sell their lower end / High end bikes under a different name. Most new cyclist make the association with crappy supermarket bikes if you mention raleigh. It's like telling a Lexus customer he is riding a normal Toyota or Mercedes Benz selling a Tata under their name. Just my 2 cents ...
  5. Had the same problem, climates plan worked for me too.

    Free Product

Wil try it, please give me a race pack.
  7. pretty much the same shock, think rp23 has one more settings. LBS told me the following normally applies. RP2 = OEM (with bike) RP23= aftermarket shock
  8. One of my friends did the Trans-Baviaans on a 2008 Giant Boulder took about 20 hours, but finished the race with no problems.
  9. Granted she didn't use the MTB that often. Guessing probably about 3000-4000 kms over the 2 chains. mostly gravel roads and tar. not technical stuff.
  10. Would recommended something entry level as a Giant Boulder. My GF rode hers for 2 years with no problem except chain replacement. Bought for R2000 and sold it for R1400. Only cost us R600 + the cost of a chain for 2 years. and then we bought her a trance2. If you sell it you will get some good bucks back, more than silverback or ralleigh or even merida. Most 1st time buyers have heard of giant.knersis2009-05-06 07:56:01
  11. No Idea, just saw it at the bottom of the ad, maybe contact CRC for more info.
  12. SLR Wheels - NOT AVAILABLE OUTSIDE THE EU ?
  13. Think the Fuel should be changed to RPM on the 1st one.
  14. CERA and beer.
  15. post some pics.
  16. Its allows you to alternate between your 3 legs...
  17. 70k, built up your own bike, buy exactly what you want. Should be able to build a 6.8kg bike easy peasy. Sram Red, Zipps.

    Thanx SportX

New supplement on the day of the Argus, not a wise move. Are you the rep? can we place the orders from you ?
  19. Damn, Hope you find the bike and your Dad recovers. Would be really nasty if someone stole his bike while he was in hospital.
  20. depends on the condition, if it is perfect, it is a good buy, if you have to spend any serios money in the next 3000kms or so not so good. What is the weight of the bike?
  21. Hi Johan, seems like no-brainer then will probably built a reliable set of Xt hubs with DT swiss Competition spokes. I have a lightweight set of American classic 26 Wheels, this set is more for my training bike, so reliability > weight.
  22. Sorry, I meant DMR Revolver hubs. (about R1400 for both), seems to be popular on CRC, good reviews, much lighter than XT. XT hubs are on special, less 20% (under R1000 for both hubs), also good reviews, but a bit heavy. Are they reliable and good value for money? The DT Swiss hubs are very expensive, more or less what the hope hubs cost.knersis2009-03-03 07:32:57
  23. Hi Johan, thanks for the reply. Can you recommend any good Wheelbuilders in the Western Cape who are familiar with Revolutions? The other option is too use DMC Revolver hubs and Dt Swiss Competition spokes and end up with a slightly heavier built, but more $$$ in my pocket.
  24. Need help with the DT swiss calculator to determine the correct spokes. Planning to build Hope Pro 2 hubs Front http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=7564 Rear http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=7566 DT Swiss revolution spokes http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=12630 and Sun ringle equliser rims (bought from Marius) http://www.sun-ringle.com/contentpages/mtb/rims/xc.php5 1. There is two type of hope 2 rear hubs on the calculator 135 mm and 150mm. How do i know which one CRC is selling ? 2. Does the DT swiss spokes on CRC include the nipples, which ones do i choose on the list? 3. How do i find the number of intersections (le. and ri.)? Attached is a pic of the Chart, please help. knersis2009-03-03 03:50:20
