  1. I have a used 2007 Fox RL 100 (currently fitted) and a brand new Reba Race (2009) 100/120 Fork. Weight wise these forks seem to way about the same. Thinking of fitting the Reba and setting it to 120 mm (removing the spacer) Anybody else running an Anthem X frame with a 120 mm fork? Please comment if the 120mm effects the bike negatively in any way. The fork has a pop-loc lever, so it should be fine for climbing. Doing the Epic next year and think that a extra 20mm of travel could help with the technical sections.knersis2009-11-30 08:08:32
  2. Just imagine the intererest on +- 30 000 x R300 = R9 000 000 per day. Sounds like the Michael Jackson concert years ago, where everybody paid and they refunded the money 3 months later. Sound fishy...
  3. LOOK on both my MTB's, way cheaper and lighter than XTR.
  4. Reba SL from Chris Willemse (www.cwcycles.co.za) is R4000, or buy from CRC (www.chainreactioncycles.com) and save some bucks.
  5. Bought the blue stuff from Geco Cycles (Capegate) a while ago.
  6. Garmin Forerunner 310XT, battery life is great. ' up to 20 hours of battery life. " I've done 16 hours with mine and there was still some life left, didn't even get low battery warning.
  7. Vat free if the item is marked as a gift, if there is a invoice you will pay vat. knersis2009-09-17 04:24:11
  8. Wonder if you only need a normal Garmin HT Belt or if it is a seperate unit.
  9. Might be worthwhile to wait for the 2010 bikes to come out and get a bargain 2009 bike. Think Giants (Dragons) Stock in coming in at the end of October. Just make sure the bike you buy has a decent Fork and Wheelset, you don't want to upgrade that in the near future.
  10. Maxxis Monorail
  11. I agree with crow. Spec overrated, rather buy a Merida (from the same factory) for cheaper and a proper Fox Shock or the Trek.
  12. Would try to get a bike with at least Deore or X.7, Alivia and Acera doesn't seem to last. Then look at the fork and wheelset.
  13. Are you sure you are talking about the Steerer Tube (top section of the fork that goes into the frame) and not the Stanchions (Pillars on the sides that moves up and down). Stanchions for Entry Level forks are usually 28mm (Rockshox Dart), and Medium to High End Forks 32mm (Fox / Rockshox Recon / Reba, with the exception of some SID's that are 28mm for weight saving).
  14. Nice. but will probably be double the price
  15. Eish ! Knersis - R2200 CWC + R2200
  16. Ok, the Elixer R is like the Juicy 5 and Elixer CR like the juicy 7. It has an extra adjust knob I won't use. Have to sell some of my old stuff to raise cash, let's hope the price on CRC stays the same for a while.

  18. per month, MUHAHHAHAHHAHA
  19. I'm in F and happy with the seeding. As Pops said, get a few fellow hubbers and ride yourself down in a race or 3. I've been floating between D and G the last years. If your fitness is there, you ride down groups in no time.
  20. CRC listed both as 375 grams? Elixer R cost : about R2000 excl vat and customs Elixer CR cost : about R3400 excl vat and customs Surely CRC weight can't be correct. Anybody know the actual weight of these brakes?
  21. It's fine as long as you paint it white too match your white socks
  22. CFS (Montague Gardens), Gecko Cycles (Brackenfell, Fred), Recycles (Bellville, JP), Williams Bike Shop (Somerset West) to name a few. knersis2009-08-26 07:59:49
  23. Candid camera not working, you need to repost the pics.
  24. General rule. When sitting on the bike. Forks should sag +- 20%, for Rear suspension it should sag +- 33%.
