  1. Those spoke lenghts should be easy to get. Call Liam at Cycletec, he can help you. I suggest you rebuild these with Sapim Laser spokes. You wont break those. Also call Mark at cape town cyles, he has ahuge selection of spokes. If that fails, you will have to order online. I buy mine from starbike.com because you can buy any amount of spokes you need and not a whole box.
  2. i think we just need to keep it clean and ignore certain guys that want to use this site for their own agendas. This thread is about how selfish some roadies are, so lets stick to that. Although I didnt get help, I will continue helping others in need. Hopefully we can rubb off on the bad ones.
  3. ? Maybe bad karma because you are such a racist Thats new. First time ever someone accuses me of being a racist. But then again you have no idea who and what I am. No need for popcorn, not entertaining this one. If you like we can take it off line, thats if you are man enough. My number is 0832336981.
  4. Really dont know how the spoke broke. I was cruising on very nice road surface. And the front wheel as well. Probably an old stress point in the spoke that gave in.
  5. yes I know. Just bad luck today. Will carry 2 tubes and those patches from now on.
  6. Point taken about the looks. I know I am no oil painting.... Morpheus - Cell phones are amazing things, you can even go onto the internet with them. My wife brought me a spare wheel and 1km before home I brake a spoke as well. Just a bad day I guess. I always help and have given many tubes away. So kharma dont always work.
  7. It is sad, really. What does it take to ask or give a tube? I always ask if someone else is standing next to the road.
  8. Do they exist!? I am currently sitting on the side of the west coast road with a punycture. Pinched my spare and now waiting for my wife to fetch me. Was passed by some roadies, one guy riding a liquigas colored cannondale and a lady rider. They both did not even look at me and once a shouted for helped he just stood up on his bike, looked at me and rode on. What a sorry sight. Can we be so obsessed with ourselves that we can even do the very basics pf helping someone in need. I am ashamed to be a roadie today. Ive dome a couple of mtb rides and never does another rider just ride pass someone in need. I am disgusted.
  9. Please remove your comment. You are not any better that any of those inciting violence on other races. Its people like you with attitudes and primitive views like you that spark this type of behaviour. You really need to look at yourself and stop pointing fingers. Or remove yourself from normal society and join that white nazi facebook group. Hand that old flag on your front door with a picture of Verwoerd on youe mantle place. Catch a wake up!
  10. Sias, its strange how events like this brings out some people's true colors and beliefs. Still using the K word!? Feel even more sorry for you than for those stupid idiots that killed ET.
  11. I suppose it a braze on and not a clamp on - just checking....
  12. R180 for the road race is not bad, but if you greedy and want to do both it does become expensive. Dont do races for the goodie bags, but it must be siad last year was pathetic. I got a bag full of pamflets!
  13. Will use it on my training wheels for a bit first. Once I have more confidence I will use them for racing (or at least my version of racing) Will still swop for a DA cassette at the first chance I get!
  14. Anyone else not convinced?
  15. Dont be sorry, you cant help it. You are forgiven
  16. Did you guys also have an issue with the fit. It seemed very tight going on.
  17. Wish someone told me this before I spent a fortune on one. Guess I should have asked...
  18. That plate is maybe 3mm thick. Is that enough to not slip out under pressure?
  19. So I got a new SRAm Red Cassette yesterday. Firstly it was a very tight fit over my freebody and took a bit of force to get on. Only after I put it on I realized that I didnt need a spacer, so had to take it off again. With a bit of force it came off, but to my surprise found that its not one piece. The back section has a backing place with popped out. This plate is not only the only place 8 or the gears (from the one piece) makes contact with the freebody, but also transmits all the drive through one conact point with the cassette. I am a bit scared of this design. Anyone have experience with using this cassette? I feel inclined to go back to Dura Ace...anyone want to swop ??
  20. So a dog fang will not work on my specialized SL2 then? Well I set my own gears - maybe thats why its always dropping.
  21. Great. Will get one of those. Not sure how this one works though.
  22. Does anyone have any experience with using this? I keep on dropping my chain when shifting to the small chainring. Saw this picture or George Hincapie's bike on Pezcycling. Anyone know where I can get one of these?
  23. Does anyone know what Ritchey WCS Road hubs weigh? Cant find any information on the net. I am getting the WCS front and WCS Zero V3 rear for my next wheel build.
  24. He will have to get in line with the rest for that....LOL
