  1. Is it possible to use shimano 10 speed wheels (Cluster) with campag 10 speed groupset.
  2. I just insalled new brakes on my road bike and thought I would change the cables and housings at the same time. The front brake works 100% but the rear does not release all the way. It opens about halfway back. The brakes are new and works 100%. When I wiggle the cables it opens. Not sure what the problem is, but think it may be that I cut the housings too long or too short. The cable runs bare through the top tube (BMC Frame), and I am not sure if the exit and entry point is causing too much friction. I have also noticed that when I take the bartape off, it releases fine - maybe I am not routing the cable properly along the bar and into the top tube. Can anyone help please? Want to get this right myself and dont want to take it to my lbs if I dont have too. I am sure there is a simple solution to this.
  3. just weighed her at the bike shop. With evrything on, pedals, computer and bottle cages - 7.15kg. stm-doing the set up today, so i will sort out the saddle. Thanks for being concerned about the crowm jewels.
  4. thanks guys just needed affirmation. Will weigh it at my lbs today. Theoretically it should weigh 250g heavier than the giant. So it should be aroung 7kg.
  5. yes sold the giant today. sleeping on the couch tonight. Its a fsa slk light compact crank.
  6. almost ready for the road. Just need a longer nut to attach the rear brake.
  7. no luck, i cant find the weigh of the 2006 s-works. Any other places i can look for it?
  8. thanks. the link gives me the tarmac pro. I will see if i can get the s-works. Not sure if there is a difference.
  9. anyone know what a 2006 tarmac s-works frame weighs? Cant find any details on weightweenies.
  10. hijac - mak-daddy i amtrying to call you. Did your number change
  11. BMC in cape town fixed mine last year for R350. They have a technician that does exceptional alu welding. They simply welded a new one on. You wont even notice the difference.
  12. anyone know if the delphi wireless speed sensor works on the neuro 6 computer. Just bought one but does not seem to work. The guy at the bikeshop was convinced it is compatible. Maybe i am just not following the link sequence properly.
  13. I am in the market for a set of racing tyres. I've always used GP4000 and the FORCE/ATTACK combo. I have narrowed it down to two: 1. GP4000S 2. Schwalble Ultremo Any opinions or other options. Want something strong and light.desmondalie2009-04-03 06:23:20
  14. i went through the pros and cons of tubbies versus clincher and yes i think tubbies is worth it even with sealant. My wheels weigh under 1.2 kg, so even with sealant they are lighter than the lightest clinchers. not sure however if using sealant influences thr rolling resistance, but still it feels better than riding clinchers.
  15. rather not, i am not very good with this kind of thing. I guess it means i need to buy a new one.
  16. i've been riding with tubbies for a couple of months now and got my first puncture today. Complements to Stan's sealant, it stopped the puncture in seconds. even after the ride its still not leaking. my question now is whether i should replace it, fix it or just keep on using it as is. I dont want to take chances on the Argus next week, but also dont want to spend R800.
  17. What the hell is that? Seriously....what kind of bike is that - what do you use it for?
  18. How much time do you guys think this detour will add. I think maybe 4-5 min of extra riding time?
  19. Thats normal. The same happens to mine. Not sure why it happens though
  20. Ill try the 3M glue first. Thanks
  21. Will I be able to fing that at any supermarket or hardware store? i see the decals were printer on 3M stickers as well, so this should work. Thanks
  22. I just received a new set of decals for my Reynolds carbon rims. Somehow one of them came of the backing and part of it is no longer sticky. I there a glue I could use to put this one? Any advice on how to put the other good ones on?
  23. They are light, works okay, but I dont think is very durable. Dont buy the brake calipers if you are heavy. I weigh 70kg and could feel the diffrence in breaking power when I changed to KCNC. I've only used the road brake calipers, so cant comment on the other parts.
  24. Does this mean you can eventually have a triathlon shoe that you can cycle and run in? Something like an mtb shoe where the cleat is recessed or different mechanism where the cleat comes off.
  25. Stupid question - Why are you doing this?
