  1. Anyone have a verdict on these saddles. Selle Italia does not work for me, so I want to make a change to Fizik or Prologo. desmondalie2008-09-02 02:14:28
  2. I still need to run this past the rest of the team. What would the price be for 10.
  3. Is this still a concept or can you buy these already. My DC team does not have a sponsor, so it could be a nice idea to buy these as kit, seeing that we will be paying for our own kit anyway.
  4. Someone told me its not good to use a carbon bike on an indoor trainer. Apparently it weakens the frame. Any truth in this?
  5. Swift - Wow no "briek merke"! desmondalie2008-07-24 02:44:33

    KCNC

Anyone know where to buy KCNC road brake calipers?
  7. JB, you are forgiven.... Bought mine from Mailliot Jaune Cycles at a very good price. I dont want to mention price but Cycle Lab in Milnerton quoted me R7 500, when the new stock arrives. I got mine for much cheaper than that.
  8. JB - Damn pal, did you get up on the wrong side of the bed or something. I never claimed anything for certain. This was just my perception of my new wheels. If I say these wheels are great you will probably want me to explain my definition of great and request scientific proof on how I came to this conclusion. Well I dont have proof but they are still great! Now its up to you to prove the are not. I hope you have the energy for this cause I dont. Take a chill pill.....
  9. Took my new wheels for a spin this weekend. Thanks MJ cycles! Compared to my SL's I think I am in better company now. Firstly the EA90 Aero came in at 1640g, 90g heavier than claimed by Easton. This was a bit of a disappointment but once they were on my bike, I didnt give a damn about the extra 60g (compared to my Sl's), cause they really, really look sexy. I took it out on a 90km hilly route and enjoyed every second of it. These wheels just feel so much stiffer and more responsive than the SL. They are as smooth as butter. The only thing I miss about my SL's is the sound of the free wheel - the easton hardly make any sound. I would recommend these to anyone, its simply the best wheels I have ever owned. I know its still early days and I still have to put it through some more tests, but so far so good.
  10. That thing is really crap. I got one, used it once and threw it away. The cartridges comes loose after a couple of km's.
  11. I've made up my mind. I am going for a set. Now just to get the best price..... Everything I've heard so far is positive. I am sure this will be an upgrade on my SL's.
  12. wisecrack - what did you pay for them if I may ask? CRC are selling them for about R5500 + 14% VAT = +/- R6300
  13. Anyone one of you ride these wheels. What is the verdict good or bad compared to Ksyruim SL's. I need a good allround wheel.
  14. I need to sell my SL's first so I will make contact with you as soon as I do. I also need to do a bit of research on these wheels. They seem nice but damn they are ugly! Where di you buy them?
  15. I woyld prefer a new set. Chainreaction Cycles is selling them for R3900 but I am not sure what duties I will have to pay.
  16. Anyone knows where the best (cheapest) place is to buy American Classic Wheels in Cape Town. I want to change form my SL's to CR420's.
  17. Anyone knows what shops in Cape Town will have this.
  18. I've heard some guys talking about using Q-Bond to fix cuts. Its is expensive but still cheaper than replacing the tyre. desmondalie2008-07-02 06:27:48
  19. No one told be that interets rates would be this high a year ago. If I knew I woould have bought a set of shimano wheels. I suppose I will have to sell them now or just live with a rear wheel that is slightly out of true. The spokes are still 100% good, but it cant be trues because the spokes have ceased into the nipples. Any way of getting that sorted?
  20. Anyone knows where the best place is to buy SL spokes. Local or online. It will cost close on R100 per spoke from some shops in Cape Town.
  21. Thanks, thats all I needed to hear.
  22. When changing from normal crank to compact crank do you need to change the front derailleur (i think thats how you spell it) as well? I want to change from a 10 speed Ultegra crank to a FSA compact crank.
  23. I got a pair of Road Pro's and it fits like a glove. The best shoes I've ver owned. R1580 seems a bit much seeing that I paid R1800 from Cycles Direct for the 2008 Road Pro.
  24. According to you there is no proof that it does in deed offer some advantage. There is also no proof that it offers a disadvantage. All the literature I have read indicates it does offer an advantage. Go ahead wait for your scientific proof, I am willing to try it out for myself right now. Sceptics had similar things to say about carbon not too long ago, and today everyone rides carbon bikes.
