  1. I had my triumph bobber seat and battery box covered by Leatherman D (Dion) in Centurion. He did a great job, perhaps worth a try. (If velobrian is in Cape Town?) http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/IMG_7353-1.jpg
  2. Wow - that SC screams FUN! Love the colourway too.
  3. That's great news!! I'm sure potential buyer will be stoked. Out of interest, what would the frame be worth on its own?
  4. it just sucks that wherever we go, opportunists aren't far away. We go away to get away from them, and they just follow. Im getting so sick of this. Sorry to hear it guys, hope you catch the culprits.

Thanks Griffin, my first enduro on a bike that I've done a few minutes on - should be interesting. Hey you wont miss me - ill be on a briiiiight yellow GT Force un-
  6. So I had just advertised my GT Zaskar Carbon Pro for sale last night, an interested buyer asked me if the frame was cracked. I replied no, there was just a chip in the clearcoat on the top tube. I decided to run through the bike this afternoon and I found something worrying... 2011 model, bought secondhand last year from a fellow hubber. Can anyone give some advice? Is it just the clearcoat? Is it worse? Is it repairable and for how much? As you can see the bike is in a great condition... Bummed... http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/DSC_0586.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/DSC_0584.jpghttp://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/DSC_0583.jpghttp://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/DSC_0582.jpghttp://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/DSC_0572.jpg

Thanks Nigel, was hoping there were camping facilites. We stayed in the Easystay at last year's Dusi2c after hightailing out of a dodgy backpacker's Any B&Bs you could recommend?

    Karkloof Enduro

Just looking at it now - looks great. Would be nice to be able to do the Classic and then stay on to watch the World Cup. Have you done this race before JacDre?
  13. Looks rad, what time is racing? I'm riding Red Barn early tomorrow am, might make a turn past there later to check it out.
  14. I started my son with Strider BMX racing this year, he's only two and rides a push bike. They do the last two straights of the track. BMX is still going strong in JHB with Kempton, Alrode and Germiston still on the calendar. I ended up getting myself a 24" Cruiser to take part this year as well (just getting the practice in - its been nearly 20 years since I last raced!) But ja, great sport for the kids, my son rides an entire BMX track at the age of 2 and I put it down to his little Strider bike that's taught him how to balance.
  15. Hahaha the ol' hair trigger buy button.... Ja, got every bit from Dial'd Bikes - Dartmoor Hubs and DMR rims (They were red but I rattle canned them black). Was on this bike last at the Greenstone skate park - its such a jol to ride. Been getting back into BMX racing this year a bit and take it with to inspire confidence on the jumps, the big wheels and suspension just take the edge off compared to my racy GT Speed Series 24". Andrew from Dial'd Bikes was really helpful so give him a call before you buy and chat about what you want. Keep us posted!
  16. It does hey, Im liking the raw aluminium look that seems to be making a comeback. I had a diamondback bmx in the late '90s and lived on it, so Ive got a soft spot for the brand. Other photo's of this bike do it more justice

    Karkloof Enduro

Going to book today, the scenery looks awesome, which translates to nice tree-covered trails. Pretty amped for this! We've had enough rain up here in JHB, I hope so too!
  18. I'm very keen to get involved. Actually posted about this in gravity section last night. I live in Edenvale and run my own business so I do have the time to get involved. I have pump track plans from LeeLikesBikes with dimensions etc. Please hook me up!!
  19. Speak to Andrew at Dial'd Bikes (Dartmoor agent) - he helped me build this : http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k500/RedLadder/IMG_7087.jpg
  20. Quite like this DiamondBack Mason Pro http://www.bikemastertool.com/media/bikes/3228/xlarge/DB_14_MasonPro_RawRed_Angle.jpg?1374262405

    Karkloof Enduro

Thanks Nigel, my kinda race Im thinking of going with the camping option.
  22. I reckon a bmx track would be the best place to try, the jumps are tamer but some (Kempton, Alrode) have pro lines with bigger doubles. They still aren't as gnarly as the DH jumps. Also, theres the bag jump at aforementioned bike park - every wed night. Take your DH bike and hit the kicker, land on the bag. I've hit dirt jumps, bmx tracks and 4th gear table tops on my MX bike, but those DH jumps scare the crap out of me

    Karkloof Enduro

Hey, Has anyone done the Karkloof Enduro? I'm amped to enter, but would like to hear from anyone who's tried the enduro? Suited bike travel? 140mm? I ride platform pedals and hope this event suits ie. not tooo much climbing (or non timed climbs?) Thanks

    Pump track

Yeah you've got a point there. I paid the $9.99 and Lee was very helpful with my questions. Im just amped that there are others who are keen on a sick pump track. I've got plans still to share though, one being the Sea Otter 2010 pump track as seen in the vid above. I don't think you'd easily get bored on that layout...

    Pump track

Hey Gents, Im really stoked on a pump track. Spoke to a few people and nothing really ever came of it. I even got in touch with Lee from LeeLikesBikes and bought his pump track manual. Drop me a PM so I can mail it to whoever wants a copy. I also have plans for this track (but Lee wants $100 for the dimensions). Sea Otter 2010 pump track : http://vimeo.com/22224588 Im happy to help in whatever way. I even built a Deity Cryptkeeper thinking I was getting this pump track built... so hell yeah lets do this in JHB.
