  1. Prince Albert to Merweville. Headwind the whole way. I guess lucky not to get wet but the wind certainly took its toll. Nice to be here for a night or two. Happy Saturday!
  2. No Sir. But packs really small. It sits on top of the rack. Tent then sleeping mats and sleeping bag wrapped in plastic bag. Does this picture help? New tent and sleeping bag will be acquired soon. Looking for funds. This has served me 3 good years.
  3. The ghost of Uniondale. Prince Albert. Love this town. Had a good day. Socks are for inspiration. Happy weekend all.
  4. Knysna to Uniondale. Fantastic day. I did squeak in a small lift near the top of the pass. Just too much luggage. But what a day. Road is a bit shot!
  5. Sure did. Few drops of rain. Bit of wind. Nothing out of the ordinary. Good news it was free.
  6. Unless they ride a single speed, right? 😄
  7. I do hope he was insured.
  8. I am not sure how but need to inform the Tokai guys. That looks like an enduro rig. Someone will notice it there.
  9. Do the participants not sign a waiver when entering? If paying participants want to go ahead then that should be allowed. Races are getting softer. The race organisers are in touch with disaster management. Calling it off in my opinion is a mistake. Not a tough guy story. Just let me take the risk I signed up for. I am sitting in Knysna right now. They are pulling down the bridge and all the tents where the end takes place. I don't see the point. I am not a tough guy as some people seem to have thought. But allow the paying entrant to decide. If you want to stay in bed let them. If you want to ride it let them. Why not? Because of some rain? Well blow me over with a feather. This world is changing for the worst. I heard there may be a slight wind tomorrow. Y'all who are shooting me down betting get under your duvets and get the hot chocolate out. Put on some Kenny G.
  10. How to make a million without doing much. That is the new name for this race. 2012 we rode epic in conditions that Columbus would have been too scared to do. What is this world coming to.
  11. Few drops of rain and all hell breaks loose. Let's see how the refund policy works here...
  12. Don't aim so low. A diamondback should suffice. I greet almost everyone. Greet me back or not I don't care. 😉
  13. What on earth is a super aggressive gravel/road set up? How do you do that with flat bars? I genuinely have zero idea.
  14. Go to your vet or agri shop. Check out the milking creams. Works better. Smells better. Easier to clean.
  15. Yes by the time I am finished coughing up a lung from that price tag it has already come and gone.
  16. Yeah. It would be quite interesting. But the weight of that power meter 🤣🤣 slow me down by at least one second. Just kidding. You got me in the last few kilos!! I need a revenge match 🙈
  17. Pretty much. I don't care enough about it to warrant it. If I want to be a good rider I ride hard and as often as I can. I don't care about data. If I want to beat you then I will attack until I run out of gas.
  18. And that's a wrap from Knysna.
  19. I am 188 and 75. It is a massive struggle to maintain this. On power meters. Actually for me on cycling. I do not use anything at all apart from the bike and how I feel. I am not interested in any of that. I ride and ride as to how I feel and the time available. I believe in diet and ride as much as you can. If you want to be a good cyclist you need to ride. I also don't have the money for all the bells and whistles. I just ride. I watch the scale and that keeps my weight down. I am very hard on the eating. I believe if you are happy you will achieve your goals. Pressure does not help. Once you enjoy the journey it all starts to work. Best of luck and keep us posted. You can do it. Just put your mind to it.
  20. Gravel and tour comes up. Think I got mine there. I was lucky as I got old stock but brand new at a hell of a deal. Yes probably you will need a new fork. I can tell you one thing that you will not regret it. I absolutely love my bike and pretty sure it is the last one I will ever buy.
  21. Lynskey titanium. Last frame you will ever buy.
  22. Keep your helmet in your pants. Save you money and injuries.
  23. The cows of Knysna. If you have ever ridden here you will understand. I think they are the cutest. Babies getting big now.
  24. Ridden a hardtail the last 10 years. 3 epics, 6 w2w, sani and I think you get the point. Absolutely love it. If you can get a titanium frame. Build it up. Not as fast downhill quite obvious but I love my bike. I wouldn't change it for love nor money. Do it. In my opinion a great decision. And a lot cheaper to run.
  25. I sent you a DM with my number. Welcome to WhatsApp me.
