I went their offices ages ago and they tried to remove a bolt for me in a crank and broke their very expensive torque wrench. I actually felt pretty bad but could see it coming. And great to see Cam there. He is a lekka dude. Had many chats with him in Toaki.

I have never ridden carbon wheels. Never will. But as is riding this is a personal choice. I would definitely put that at the bottom of my list. Maybe you have never ridden a good set of aluminum wheels? You don't even need a good set. You just need them to be built by someone who knows what they doing. Bearings are bearings. Is there factual evidence that bearings in carbon wheels last longer? News to me.
Again just my personal experience. I rode it for fun 3 times. There is so much out there for and against. Make the choice if the money you are spending is worth it. I had a coach for the first one and stopped her after 2 months. I didn't enjoy it. But please come back here and update us throughout your experience. You could help the next guy looking for advice.
Absolutely no need for a new bike. Your bike sounds good. Be careful of all the hype you hear. Just up your training a bit. Personally I would not really change much. Just add a 3 or 4 hour ride on the weekends if you can. Everything you do now will benefit you if you keep it up. I know the excitement of doing it. Enjoy it. And just remember to enjoy yourself.
How long is a piece of string! Without the knowledge of what bike and maybe a few pictures no really possible to say. Not being rude. You will probably also have to use a longer chain.
It is always best to supply pictures. Then we can see what you have and the available options and costs. While some may know what it is the greater community are probably a lot more visual.
Kind of agree with you. This is how it goes. Depreciation cannot be a factor. Unless you supply like with like. Insurance are not there to pay you out. They are a business. Profit counts and they will spend 30 to save 20. I got this feeling very much from naked and hollard. But again you will consistently have good and bad. For and against. It seems like such a terrible business. They will literally employ people to not pay you. Ethics is not their forte.
I think this is it. You need to have an understanding from both sides. But I have never heard of an insurance company that does this. It also has so much interpretation from both sides. Very difficult situation in my opinion. I am still holding thumbs for the Op. I do understand his struggle though. As mentioned my experience with them was a nightmare.
Yes him. I was just checking with him if he was good to let people have his number. I actually found him here on the hub. I can absolutely say it is a top notch job. So he is happy to give quotes as far as I can see.
