  1. No. Another chap in Muizenberg but his name has slipped my mind. Think he is the leather works guy in Mowbray. I think.
  2. Guy did mine. Absolutely spectacular job. And I think reasonably priced too. Definitely prefer the leather. He covers over the old saddle.
  3. Good luck. Sounds like things are happening at last.
  4. Once this ordeal is over you should find yourself a better company. Good luck with this one. I hear many bad stories about these guys. Hope you get sorted.
  5. I have no vested interest in this case. I just personally think it is an insensitive comment. I have no bad will or agenda. The reason I deleted my comment is because this is an open forum and we are all allowed our own opinion. I am no one to tell him what he may think. So apologies to Shebeen.
  6. I thought you insured your bike for what you thought its value was. New or second hand. A car gas a book value. You cannot insure it for what you think it is worth. Not necessarily new but what you would like to receive if something happens. Related to how much you would pay to insure it.
  7. Indeed, yes. I had been dealing with them for 3 months as I stated. These guys are a whole new level of useless in my opinion. I went through it all before I got to them.
  8. I may be wrong but his complaint is he hasn't heard anything. About anything.
  9. I went to the ombudsman while my so called claim was in the process. You are allowed to have grievances I think. Naked are absolutely useless in my opinion. Personal experience. I feel for the OP as I know how worrying this gets. The ombudsman is not my lawyer versus theirs. It is a fair and amicable outcome of which after a month he does not have. He can also complain directly to hollard. It is in the naked t's&c's. Anyway good luck to him.
  10. Insurance falls under one cover. Doesn't matter the product as far as I understand. If you feel you are not getting fair value then it is worth a shot. At worst they can tell you to go away 😂
  11. Go to the ombudsman. It is a pain but I do believe they can be of assistance. Do not accept what you feel is not fair. As I said I did. Once you show them you are not prepared to settle for anything less than fair. Keep us posted.
  12. I had my brand new Jimny with them. The car was hit in the street and the sump was somehow damaged and the oil drained out. They were informed of all of this on the claim. The engine was not started by me. They took the car. Gave it to some shady panel beaters in CT. They fixed the outside damage and they started the engine. Needles to say they destroy it. So it went to suzuki. After 3 months of them wasting my time and many many phone calls and emails they paid me out. They are absolutely terrible. I had to go to the Ombudsman. Both of those companies in my opinion are absolutely terrible. I am now back with outsurance. And happy so far.
  13. If he is under 50kgs a hardtail. Over 50 and start thinking about dual. My 2 cents for what its worth.
  14. No trails that I know of but lots of gravel road riding.
  15. Don't worry bruh. From kilometers 200 to 361 are all downhill.
  16. Not our lady friend who did the argus. Hers must do about 50 I would say.
  17. Opinions and experiences are personal. So to each their own. I can relate to stuff you experience and then some I don't. To have many angles to view an experience is best. I would never call anyone out who has done it but highly doubt I would copy their sentiments to the T. Your effort to describe your journey is very much welcomed and enjoyed by myself.
  18. 🤣🤣 they also said capped at 600 teams. In 2010 I saw boards into the late 600's. It wouldn't be the first time it seems they have crossed wires!
  19. True story...
  20. I personally don't let people have 3 chances! Don't make it 4/4
  21. Need to get as many pictures as you can up. And your area to see who can assist you.
  22. We all have our own interpretation of what happened here. What matters is how it is dealt with. As sad as this situation is no one can bring him back to life. We can all wish and say and do whatever we desire but due process has to follow now. Let us wish that things are dealt with in a respectful and proper manner. And we will all have our own interpretation of that too. There is the law and then there are personal feelings. It is tragic what has happened. Let's be respectful of the life lost and try to work forward in a positive manner. Happy Friday y'all. There is a family missing a member this weekend. Let's hope they manage to get through the coming period knowing that the cycling community is with them in thought and prayer. Be safe.
  23. You NEED to calm down 🫡
  24. So for me personally I am not interested in all the stats. The front 10 teams are what counts. They are all on their best game. No waiting for single track, no sitting under a bush to cool down and almost no stopping at the water points. There is also a funny clip somewhere of when a guy didn't stop at a water point and Karl made it his mission to catch that team and inform them how it works. These guys are there to win. They have the best of everything. So in my opinion... the quicker they go the less demanding the race becomes. Maybe less demanding is the wrong word. I also don't want to say easier as that is not what I mean. You can't count on Billy Bob Joe as a stat. Too many variables. But to each their own. I really enjoyed it when I did it. But I was young and not a fatty then. At this stage of the game I would still be doing the prologue right now.
