  1. So I've been burning the midnight oil the last few days getting stuff sorted and work done for deadline. Looking at my four odd days of growth I'm thinking of growing a beard. Just because. What say the stylists and fashionistas of the hub?
  2. There is apparently a problem with the MTN network. Been having issues all week with calling and smsing people on MTN
  3. Think my Bike sub cost less than that, could be wrong though. I don't mind much, prefer the print mags to online anyways.
  4. I normally just subscribe to the print version, which ends up costing pretty much the same anyways. Bike!
  5. bastard... all of a sardine my rides this weekend have suddenly diminished!
  6. All good otie, self? ... You still have that monster car?
  7. Heh, I remember when the bike shop I worked in was been liquidated. Was helping the owner clear some stuff when some randon character waddles in with his spawn in tow, past the closed sign and partially closed door. Want's us to 'quickly' check his son's seatpost. "Sorry sir but the business is now closed, as in shut" Straight over his head...
  8. Naw, them lions are docile critters..... of course the outside you muppet! Have to say, still one of my fav rides that.... Where else could one go for an offroad ride out of a major city and take in some game viewing. Some parts of the fence we were only 3 odd meters away.
  9. That's the ironic part about this thread - I would say there are more people that own mountain bikes AND road bikes than either one. 'fess up people - what do you own? Me? Road' date=' TT, mountain and track...[/quote'] I can vouch for your mountain bike, although I've only ever seen you ride it round the Lion park...
  10. Don't know about nowadays with the new designs around but theres a general feeling that hardtails are more responsive and have better power tranfer.
  11. Back 'in the day' when I was racing and dedicated with the frown to boot, I kept my legs silky smooth by shaving with only the finest products available. Of course shaving was time consuming and ate into valuable training hours, so being all motivated and gullible I took a 'friends' to try waxing. At the time it didn't register that this freak had a tattoo across his whole bony back, so I innocently frolicked to my fate, mindful of "it's just a mild burning sensation bru" With hindsight I guess the restraints should have been another warning, that and the torturer's manic grin exposing all it's ivory! I bet they never had such fresh innocent meat before! Let me tell, after the first of the strips was torn, there was enough rage in me to make stew from both of Mike Tysons's ears and still PK Evander Holyfield like the fat kid whose lunch I used to steal in school. By the end I was inbetween hysterical bouts of laughter and uncontrollable sobs. Once it was all over I could've sworn all I had were two flaming bloody stumps. Since I hardly ever race now, I'm arse lazy to bother shaving and after the trauma of waxing I'd rather have my ex girlfriend burn my gonads with boiling Rooibos tea! So hairy it is, mountain style.danger dassie2008-08-10 13:03:23
  12. Logwood, NF, Groenkloof, Spruit, van Gaalens etc are all nice for their own reasons. Personaly I'm not a huge fan of bike 'parks', seems to much like a hamster in a wheel. Dassie likes to explore, Dassie likes to meander! But, there is a market for it and MTB has grown as a sport so there is a huge sector that needs catering for and a having bike park/s nearby to ride at does make a nice change from time to time.
  13. Hmmm.... I shall be on the lookout of purple boas rustling whilst out on the trail today!
  14. don't know who owns it, but I'm sure they would've helped holy just as quickly... I'm teaching him the 'eyelash battering technique' which helps us girls get what we want, when we want it... combined with the coy tilt-of-the-head technique, it's a sure winner When you say "us girls", does that include Holy? Stupid question...... Of course it does
  15. Shotto ... although I always thought the 'eylash batting' and 'coy head tilt' were code for "Let me do some more ironing"
  16. And records are so old school these days, iTunes are more 'now'
  17. Ox Wagon, you can try Mikes Bikes in Greenside.
  18. Cool stuff, where are they? I stay near(ish) Northclif.... always nice to have a network of LBSs
  19. Make some valid points, but your venting about the forums is nothing special. Thats a characteristic of forum based sites in general, especially where they are industry/genre specific.
  20. "dont worry about the orange life preserver, sharks patrol these waters" - Morpheine
  21. Man number 4 is HAWT! .... Kinda kit I could wear on the dancefloor and go krrr krrrr grrrrr !
  22. Coolness, we have have a studio with a number of back drops and lights etc... got a couple cool ideas actually! Look forward to it!!
