  1. The prize money is probably less than a CSA licence
  2. Was bummed to have missed it because of flu, but I'm sure with the wind it must have been a real gutter fest
  3. Does he live in Blouberg / Tableview side? Since I moved there, after commuting all week I can't face 40km (20km each way) of boring, flat, windy cycle track before getting to any kind climbing / fun /scenic riding. Mojo at an all time low. Driving somewhere to go ride doesn't seem right either!
  4. I am. i'm procrastinating...looks cold
  5. I wasn't told the rules. I thought the winner was the person who ate the most free Bar One's
  6. I'll ride This is me... http://results.racetec.co.za/results_by_person.aspx?PID=41759 ...and stay for the party!
  7. I'd cycle there if that's an option for you? Just go down to the rondebosch common, along liesbeek parkway until you get onto the cycle lane all the way to town. nice warm up, probably like 7km
  8. If it were me, I'd still ride it
  9. What's the rumours?
  10. What's the deal with needing CSA racing licence for the racing bunches, do they check that you have one before you start? Don't really want to buy a year licence just for the Argus
  11. There will be loads. Even last year (the one they cancelled because of the wind) I rode through from Milnerton and there were still quite a few people cycling through from blouberg / milnerton / century city etc. I think I will be cycling through this year, will be early though
  12. It's two weeks away. The weather forecast will change 100 times before then. It's only accurate within +- 4 days
  13. That is true, I'd say that 99er would usually be one of those races. I've found that Tour de PPA usually has a high beta as well. Will most likely do more for your seeding index
  14. The adjusted winning time is definitely fair. The conditions and course were easier than previous years
  15. Have always found traffic to be super chilled on signal hill road. Were you keeping left though?
  16. Huge thanks to team mad macs / häzz coffee for letting us chill in their van and for feeding us (Coro racing A) after our support vehicle never made it to the 2nd feed zone. That saved our asses big time. Those vegan superbars are pretty rad too.
  17. My money is on Slumtown Mafia. They sound badass
  18. Ja man, cycled from big bay to newlands. crap headwind the whole way!
  19. Flip, must have been just after I saw you (we passed each other near the bridge by liesbeek parkway). Glad you're ok.
  20. I think it's fine. Big, wide shoulder, bumper to bumper traffic on your right. No intersections to cross until you get to paddocks. I think you're in more danger of hitting a pedestrian or another cyclist on the cycle lane. Had there been no shoulder, or non peak hour traffic, I'd have agreed with you
  21. Thanks for the warning man, glad you got out ok. And people wonder why we ride along marine drive and N1
  22. Was hoping for some bargains on deep sections in the classifieds after yesterday
  23. I rode to the start from Milnerton last year and met up with plenty of people along the way. Will be doing it again this year
  24. Did a 3:10 from group M once. Don't know how that equates to the current group format
  25. ...as predicted...
